Discussions and policies of the COVID-19 lockdown were heavily politicized and manipulated. Are we going to have a replay of the lockdown just in time for the 2024 election cycle?

With little more than a year until the 2024 elections, the reappearance of some COVID-era protocols has sparked concerns that more widespread measures may be ordered in the months ahead.

This week, Morris Brown College announced on Instagram that "effective immediately," several COVID-19 protocols, including a campus-wide mask mandate, had been enacted for at least 14 days despit there having been no confirmed COVID-19 cases on campus recently. The measure, the college says, is instead "due to reports of positive cases among students" at other Atlanta-area schools.

CNN reported that at least one expert has said the protocols may be needed soon for people with diabetes, cancer, chronic liver, kidney or lung disease, organ or stem cell transplants, HIV or other immunocompromising conditions, a history of heart disease or stroke, dementia or mental health issues. The COVID-19 protocols included:

  • Social distancing
  • Bans on "large gatherings"
  • Isolation and quarantines in accordance with CDC guidelines
  • Contact Tracing
  • Symptom Monitoring
  • Regular hand washing and sanitation

"Mandates are coming back just in time for the 2024 election cycle," conservative and investor Collin Rugg posted to X. "What impeccable timing!"

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk wrote on the platform that the moves are "just in time for Democrats to reinforce the importance of mass mail-in ballots" and also urged Americans not to comply.

Florida Surgeon General Slams Return Of Mask Mandates Across Country, Urges People To Refuse ‘To Participate’

Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo slammed mask mandates as “terrible policies” Thursday and urged people not to comply as entities across the country return to forced masking.

What do you call re-imposing mask policies that have been proven ineffective or restarting lockdowns that are known to cause harm? You don't call it sanity. These terrible policies only work with your cooperation. How about refusing to participate…

A return to mask mandates has also been pushed by legacy media outlets this week. CNN published an article on Wednesday titled, “It may be time to break out the masks against Covid, some experts say.” A CBS News medical contributor argued Friday that “People 65-plus and people who are immunocompromised should strongly consider masking during flu, RSV, COVID season while in indoor public spaces. And for everyone else — it all depends on what their risk tolerance is.”

The Florida surgeon general has long opposed mask mandates, saying in March 2022 that the argument used to push mask mandates is “a lie,” adding, “It needs to stop and people need to un-believe it.”

Biden plans to ask Congress for funding to develop new COVID vaccine, may require shot for all

The announcement comes near a year after Biden declared the pandemic was 'over'

I've been expecting this, or something similar, just not quite so soon. They may have Jumped The Shark.
