Former President Donald Trump said Thursday evening that he has been indicted in the federal criminal investigation into his handling of classified material.

“The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax, even though Joe Biden has 1850 Boxes at the University of Delaware, additional Boxes in Chinatown, D.C., with even more Boxes at the University of Pennsylvania, and documents strewn all over his garage floor where he parks his Corvette, and which is ‘secured’ by only a garage door that is paper thin, and open much of the time,” Trump wrote on social media.

The former president, who turns 77 next week, added that he has been “summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM.”

ABC News’ Katherine Faulders said during a special report on the network that Trump appears to have been hit with seven criminal counts ranging from willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy, a scheme to conceal, and false statements and representations.

Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in the case and has demanded that the investigation be stopped because of allegations of supposed bias from prosecutors.

Elise Stefanik: Donald Trump Indicted Same Day ‘Treasonous’ Biden Doc Released to Congress

House Republican Conference Chair Rep Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said in a statement Thursday that President Biden weaponized the Justice Department against former President Trump, amid news the GOP front-runner had been indicted on the same day it was revealed Biden allegedly received a payoff for influencing U.S.-Ukraine policy.

“The exact same day that the FBI is forced to turn over to Congress absolutely damning and credible allegations regarding Joe Biden’s illegal, egregious, and treasonous corruption, Joe Biden weaponizes his Department of Justice to indict Donald Trump,” Stefanik said.

“The American people are smart and understand this is the epitome of the illegal and unprecedented weaponization of the federal government against Joe Biden’s leading opponent, President Donald J. Trump,” she added. “In 2024, we will vote like this country has never seen before and we will elect President Trump back to the White House to save America.”:snip:

NYT Reporter Highlights Something Peculiar About One of the Charges in Trump Classified Doc Case

:snip:

Yet, Haberman highlights a crucial part of one of the reported indictments.

“It's important to note that one of the charges is conspiracy to obstruct. That requires two people.”

So, who else is being charged and will be next to Trump in the courtroom? Does this person have the stomach to take on the Biden DOJ? I ask because a massive government agency with unlimited resources is quite an opponent, one that could force this other person, whoever they are, to try and hash out a deal, making for more drama.  :snip:

June 8 2023

You wanted to see Mark fired up?  You got it.  Watch as Mark erupts on Hannity about how the weaponized Department of Justice - led by Merrick Garland, the mob lawyer- wants to see Donald Trump die in prison.  January 6th wasn’t an insurrection—the insurrection is June 8, 2023—the day a rogue soviet style prosecutor indicted the former President.  A disgusting mark on History.

Jim Jordan Reveals New Information About Mar-a-Lago Raid in Scathing Letter to Biden DOJ

Spencer Brown
June 09, 2023

(Snip)

Citing the DOJ's actions against Trump — while ignoring the mishandling of classified information by Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden — that have created the "serious appearance of a double standard and a miscarriage of justice," Chairman Jordan lays out the situation as it stands now:

The Biden Department of Justice is reportedly about to indict a former president and President Biden’s chief rival in the upcoming presidential election. According to reports, the Department will indict President Donald Trump, despite declining to indict former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her mishandling of classified information and failing to indict President Biden for his mishandling of classified information. The indictment creates, at the minimum, a serious appearance of a double standard and a miscarriage of justice—an impression that is only strengthened by allegations that a Biden Justice Department lawyer “inappropriately sought to pressure” a Trump-affiliated lawyer with the prospect of a judgeship. Additional information recently obtained by the Committee about the Department’s execution of a search warrant on President Trump’s residence only reinforces our grave concerns that your reported actions are nothing more than a politically motivated prosecution.

Jordan's letter also reveals new information from a transcribed interview the House Judiciary Committee conducted with the former Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI's Washington Field Office Steven D'Antuono, someone who raised several concerns about the DOJ and FBI's handling of the case against the 45th president:

On June 7, 2023—days before the reported indictment of former President Trump—the Committee conducted a transcribed interview of Steven D’Antuono. Mr. D’Antuono served as the former Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office (WFO) and one of the most senior FBI officials in charge of effectuating the unprecedented raid of President Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago. During his testimony, Mr. D’Antuono expressed strong concerns with the Department’s pursuit of the raid and noted several unusual features in the Department’s handling of the case. Mr. D’Antuono, who had over two decades of FBI experience, noted his frustration that the FBI was going to be “left holding the bag again” with respect to the search of President Trump’s residence.

Chairman Jordan had previously requested information from Attorney General Garland related to the search of Mar-a-Lago for Judiciary oversight "which the Department has refused to provide," according to Jordan, so Friday's letter reiterated and expanded the previous request in light of Trump's looming indictment.

The Judiciary Committee, with a deadline of June 16, requested:

1. All documents and communications referring or relating to meetings between FBI and Justice Department officials prior to the execution of the search warrant on President Trump’s private residence;

2. All documents and communications referring or relating to the execution of a search warrant on President Trump’s private residence, including those sent or received by the following FBI and Justice Department Officials:

a. Paul Abbate,

b. Matthew Olsen,

c. Jay Bratt,

d. George Toscas,

e. Steven D’Antuono; and

3. All documents and communications between or among Washington Field Office agents and employees and the U.S. Secret Service about a potential search of President Trump’s residence.

Donald Trump indicted: Lawyer Alan Dershowitz calls latest Trump indictment a 'weak' and 'dangerous' case

Famed attorney Alan Dershowitz went on the record to call out the Department of Justice over former President Donald Trump’s indictment, which was announced Thursday by Trump on Truth Social.

The latest investigation, which alleged 37 counts of federal charges against Trump, must “be at least as strong as the case against Richard Nixon” during the Watergate scandal, Dershowitz said in an interview with Fox on Friday.

New Trump indictment over documents is a 'whole different ballgame,' says Jonathan Turley

Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley joined "America's Newsroom" to discuss how the new indictment over classified documents will look different from the Manhattan indictment for President Trump. The constitutional law professor said the Alvin Bragg prosecution is "political" but says the Miami indictment is a "whole new ballgame."

JONATHAN TURLEY: I know a lot of people have criticized [Jack] Smith for his background, but he's no Alvin Bragg. He's a serious prosecutor. The Alvin Bragg prosecution is a political prosecution. It is what Trump says it is. It is a weaponization of the criminal justice system, in my view. This is a different ball game.

After the indictment was unsealed Friday afternoon, Turley said on "America Reports" that the charges laid out are "extremely damning."

TURLEY: It is an extremely damning indictment. There are indictments that are sometimes called narrative or speaking indictments. These are indictments that are really meant to make a point as to the depth of the evidence. There are some indictments that are just bare bones. This is not. The special counsel knew that there would be a lot of people who were going to allege that the Department of Justice was acting in a biased or politically motivated way.:snip:

 Could be that it is?

The question is, was this done to get rid of Donald Trump as a presidential candidate, or help him become the candidate (because  the think he'll be the weaker candidate)?

DOJ Didn’t Charge Trump Over Alleged Iran Document In Audio Recording: Report
Tim Pearce
Jun 28, 2023

The alleged Iran document at the center of a recorded conversation thought to be a key piece of evidence in former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case is reportedly not included in his indictment.

Trump was caught on a recording allegedly showing a classified document with details relating to a possible U.S. invasion plan of Iran. The document “totally wins my case,” Trump says in the audio. Trump purportedly pulled out the document while denying claims that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mark Milley spent the final days of the Trump administration restraining the then-president from attacking Iran.

A source familiar with the matter told CBS News that the document in question is not part of the charging document filed in a federal court in Florida earlier this month. The indictment charges Trump with 37 counts, including 31 counts of willfully retaining national security information.
