Just the News

The top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee said Monday a whistleblower has come forward detailing how the FBI is manipulating cases related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot to create "the illusion" that domestic violent extremism is a widespread problem in the United States.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray that the "manipulative case-file practice" was being conducted by the bureau's Washington field office, which was instructing local FBI offices to open up cases on their books that were in fact simply related to the Capitol breach.

"The  FBI's case categorization creates the illusion that threats from DVE are present in jurisdictions across the nation, when in reality they all stem from the same related investigation concerning the actions at the Capitol on January 6," Jordan wrote.

"Such an artificial case categorization scheme allows FBI leadership to misleadingly point to 'significant' increases in DVE threats nationwide," he added.:snip:

FBI whistleblower alleges Jan. 6 cases manipulated to create illusion of national crisis

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”

Rahm Emanuel

We can say  many things about this administration, Letting a crisis go to waste is NOT one of them. In fact  if there isn't one, they will manufacture one.

Did FBI brass censor agents' report warning of political influence? Congress wants to know

Sen. Chuck Grassley "questions for record" to FBI Director Wray allege agents advisory committee's politicization concerns removed.

John Solomon

Sep. 21 2022

It's commonplace after a congressional hearing for some lawmakers to follow up with additional questions to the witnesses. The practice, known as "questions for the record," usually involves arcane or technical matters and seldom makes news.

But Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, appears to have included a bombshell allegation in a recent QFR he sent FBI Director Christopher Wray after a contentious hearing last month in the Senate.

In question number 16 to Wray, Grassley revealed that his office had received allegations that a special advisory committee made up of FBI agents from the field raised concerns with Wray that politics had infected the bureau's investigative decision-making but those concerns got excised from the final report.

It's an issue Grassley tried to raise at the hearing but got rebuffed.
