Geee Posted August 5, 2022 Share Posted August 5, 2022 CNS News CNSNews.com) - The United States ran a merchandise trade deficit of $200,096,600,000 with the People’s Republic of China in the first six months of this year, according to data released today by the Census Bureau. That was the largest trade deficit that the United States ran with any country in the January-through-June period. The second largest trade deficit the United States ran in the first half of this year was with Mexico. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan is working to remove crucial tax credit restrictions for electric vehicles (EVs) in her party’s tax and spending agreement that could help China, a nation that dominates the EV minerals market, according to Bloomberg. “Nearly all of those minerals are currently sourced from China, Russia, and other nations,” Mark Mills, energy and tech expert at the Manhattan Institute, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Stabenow and auto companies say that the tax credit would not help anyone for years under the current text of the bill and are working to alter it ahead of the bill’s passage.
