Valin
The Washington Examiner Christopher Hutton, Breaking News Reporter June 14, 2022 Spotify is forming an advisory board to deal with matters of disinformation, hate speech, and other controversial subjects on its platform. The Safety Advisory Board, which Spotify announced on Monday, will provide the music streaming service with a third-party entity that will review claims involving allegedly "harmful" content on its platform. The development resembles Facebook's Oversight Board and appears to be in response to Spotify's controversial decisions regarding Joe Rogan and the spread of COVID-19 misinformation. "The idea is to bring in these world-renowned experts, many of whom have been in this space for several years, to realize a relationship with them," Dustee Jenkins, Spotify's global head of public affairs, told Reuters. "And to ensure that it's not talking to them when we're in the middle of a situation. … Instead, we're meeting with them on a pretty regular basis so that we can be much more proactive about how we're thinking about these issues across the company."
