Goofs, gaffes and brainfarts: Trump sets sights on Biden's Achilles heel

President Trump is convinced that Joseph R. Biden has an Achilles heel and it’s none other than Joe Biden himself.

The nation’s 45th president and his reelection team believe that sunlight is the best disinfectant when it comes to denting Mr. Biden’s image among voters on the fence.

The bet is simple: The more attention Mr. Biden gets from the news media, the better the chances the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee will shoot himself in the foot with goofs, gaffes and brainfarts that could give voters pause.

“It is a recognition of the fact that Biden has somewhat benefited by being able to hole up in his basement and very much control how and when he interacts with the media,” said Mark P. Jones, a political science professor at Rice University. “Right now he is just about as old as Ronald Reagan was when [Reagan] left office after his second term and I think everyone knows [Biden‘s] mental acuity is not what it used to be.

“The other is the belief is that mentally he is not 100% there and that another impact of greater media attention would be to reveal memory lapses, the mincing up of words, and any sign that could suggest that he may not be fit to serve as president.”:snip:

Joe Biden says there are ‘120 million dead from COVID’ in latest gaffe

Self-proclaimed “gaffe machine” Joe Biden added several extra zeroes to the nation’s coronavirus death toll during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania — prompting President Trump to slam the prospective Democratic nominee’s “mortifyingly stupid” comment.

“People don’t have a job, people don’t know where to go, they don’t know what to do,” the former vice president said in Lancaster on Thursday, Fox News reported. “Now we have over 120 million dead from COVID.”:snip:

POLL: 38 Percent of Americans Think Joe Biden Has Dementia

Nearly 4 in 10 Americans think former vice president Joe Biden is suffering from dementia, according to the results of a poll published Monday. A clear majority of voters think Biden should publicly address his noticeably deteriorating cognitive functions.

The poll, conducted by Rasmussen, found that 38 percent of likely voters believe that Biden has dementia. That includes 20 percent of Democrats and 30 percent of independent voters. Nearly two-thirds of Republicans said they thought Biden has the condition, which is characterized by cognitive deficits such as the inability to string together complex sentences.

A significant majority of voters—61 percent—said it was important that Biden publicly address the dwindling dexterity of his brain, with 41 percent saying it was "very important" to hear from Biden on the issue, assuming he is able to discuss it in a somewhat coherent fashion.

Biden: ‘All You’ve Got to Do Is Watch Me’ to See if I’m Suffering Cognitive Decline

"All you’ve got to do is watch me,” former Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday when asked if he had experienced cognitive decline at age.

“Have you been tested for some degree of cognitive decline?” Fox News’ Doug McKelway asked the 77 year-old Biden at a press conference.

Biden did not reveal the results, but did acknowledge that he’s “constantly tested” and would love to match wits with President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential race:

“I’ve been tested, I’m constantly tested. Look, all you’ve got to do is watch me and I can hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against. Thank you so much.”:snip:

Joe Biden Goes On Wild Tangent, Basically Accuses Americans of Being Stupid and Racist

It’s been a banner day for Joe Biden. Usually relegated to the dark recesses of his basement, he’s run a campaign that’s weak and cowardly, but also seemingly effective. For some reason, his handlers decided to give him access to a computer today though, and the clips have been nuts.

Earlier, he claimed Donald Trump was the “first” racist president. That isn’t true, both because Trump isn’t a racist, and because our history is filled with racist presidents, including slave traders (see Joe Biden Slips Further Into Mental Collapse, Declares Trump the ‘First’ Racist President). Not to be outdone by that bit of insanity, he went on to also claim a nurse breathed into his nostrils to “get him going” when he was once in the hospital. I’m not medical professional, but I’m confident that’s not a thing nurses do.

Yet, Biden wasn’t done for the day. He decided to shill for China and basically accuse Americans of being stupid, racist, or both.:snip:

Joe Biden: You Can’t Blame China for COVID Because All These Asian Folk Look the Same

Former Vice President Joe Biden has been chilling in the basement. He’s going to stay there. The man may not be in the limelight as often given the COVID outbreak, but there is no way his team is going to sign off on debates this Fall. Just wait for it, folks. Some papers are already whispering this point, but the virus will be used as an excuse to end the debates, which is outrageous. Now, will this push be successful? Remains to be seen. I still think we’re going to have some debates that are COVID safe, but it’ll be a fight for sure. All it takes is one horrendous debate performance for Biden to blow up the supposed lead he has over Donald Trump. And given his past remarks, it looks like that’s likely to happen. :snip:

Joe Biden's Plagiarism Problem

Last week, Democrat nominee for president Joe Biden delivered an economic speech under the slogan “Build Back Better.” Despite the radical proposals contained within the speech, that’s some clever branding.

However, Joe Biden didn’t come up with the slogan, the United Nations did. That’s right—Joe Biden and his campaign plagiarized the title directly from a United Nations climate change initiative launched in April. In fact, Biden’s released economic plan seemed eerily similar to President Donald Trump’s “America First” message.

Following these latest incidents, one can’t help but flash back to Biden’s well-documented history of plagiarism, which dates to his first presidential campaign in the summer of 1987, a bid that ended ignominiously amid repeated examples of plagiarism and outright fabrication.

It’s also important to note that he’s been accused of lifting entire sections of speeches from others for his own use without attribution. And of copying, almost word for word, policy platforms of other candidates.:snip:

Dan Bongino drops a bomb about Biden

Bongino is a former Secret Service agent and hugely popular conservative pundit, with a podcast, regular contributions on Fox News, and a curated news aggregation site. Through his past work and his current punditry, he has contacts everywhere. That’s why it means something when Bongino tweets out that Biden’s rate of mental decline is accelerating, forcing the Democrats to do something:

Not a joke and not hyperbole - I’m hearing from people close to the situation that Biden’s cognitive decline is rapidly worsening and is becoming increasingly difficult to mask. The Democrats are going to have to make a decision soon.

6:48 AM · Aug 2, 2020

If Biden is forced to withdraw now, it would be logical to anoint Bernie Sanders as the Democrat presidential candidate. At a policy level, the effect would be minimal because Biden has already embraced Bernie Sanders’s entire socialist platform.:snip:

Mollie Hemingway examines Biden's 'bizarre' false arrest claims, says they're part of 'track record of lying'

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has a "bizarre" habit of bragging about arrests that never happened, Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Monday.

"He’s dreamed of it and thought of it a great deal," Hemingway, senior editor of The Federalist, told host Tucker Carlson. "And he's had a lifetime of storytelling. I mean, I don't think he's the only politician out there to exaggerate or tell stories but he really is notable for this, and it was something that caused problems for him the first time he ran for president [in 1988] when that candidacy was derailed by his lies, his plagiarism."

In March, Biden was forced to walk back his claim that he was arrested in apartheid-era South Africa three decades ago when trying to visit Nelson Mandela.

The claim was just the latest in the former vice president's string of falsehoods, Hemingway said.:snip:

Biden pushes back on cognitive test question: ‘Why the hell would I take a test?'

In an exchange with CBS’s Errol Barnett during a wide-ranging, multi-moderator interview at a conference of Black and Latino journalists, Biden balked at Barnett’s question about whether Biden had even taken an exam.

“No, I haven’t taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test?” responded Biden, who then posed a rhetorical analogy.

“C’mon man,” he chided Barnett. “That’s like saying, ‘You — before you got on this program you took a test where you’re taking cocaine or not, what do you think? Huh? Are you a junkie?’”

Barnett followed up by asking Biden what he would say to Trump, “who brags about his test and makes your mental state an issue for voters?”

“Well, if he can’t figure out the difference between an elephant and a lion, I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about,” said Biden with a laugh. “Look, c’mon man, I know you’re trying to goad me, but I’m so ...  looking [forward] to have an opportunity to sit or stand with the president on the debates.”:snip:

Karen Bass, finalist for Biden VP, eulogized Communist Party USA leader as "friend and mentor" in 2017

Bryan Brammer

Aug 5th, 2020

Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA), who is allegedly on Joe Biden's shortlist of potential presidential running mates, eulogized a top leader of the Communist Party USA as a "friend and mentor" in 2017, Politico reported.

Bass praised Oneil Marion Cannon for becoming the "union printer to the left" in Los Angeles by "producing leaflets, journals, and brochures for community groups, activists, and churches."

She also lauded Cannon for co-founding a community hub that pursued "interracial and intercultural understanding" and said Cannon even once "belonged to the Independent Progressive Party."
