WLBT3 reports that the Mississippi Republican Party welcomed eight new members into their fold last week, six of whom had been Democrats and two, Independents. Each of these officials were elected in the most recent election cycle.

Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Lucien Smith suspects they won’t be the last. He told WLBT, “We have had a relentless focus on switching conservative Democrats over to the Republican party. They recognize increasingly that there is only one party that represents the conservative values of our state and that is the Republican party.”:snip:

Several Elected Democrats Just QUIT The Democratic Party And Joined The Republican Party. From Small towns to state level and even federal Democratic politicians keep switching their affiliations from Democratic to republican as people grow tired of the far left.

Across the nation we are see the Walk Away movement from individual voters all the way to federal politicians.

What I see here is (for the most part) is not a group of Black Voters, but a group of average American Voters. A lot of their opinions/concerns cut right across racial lines....And That's A Good Thing. Possibly a Very Good Thing.

Jeff Van Drew: More House Democrats could follow my lead and switch parties

Joshua Nelson

Mar. 3 2020

Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew, who recently left the Democrat Party due to his opposition to impeachment, said on Tuesday that there are other moderate Democrats who could consider switching parties.

Van Drew noted that while moderates are interested in making the change, they are waiting to see how his party switch will fare.

“When it does go well, I do believe there will be other people that will think the same way. There are some good moderate Democrats on the other side and I really believe they belong on the Republican side,” the New Jersey lawmaker told “Outnumbered Overtime.”

Van Drew said that the Democratic Party was “lurching” too far to the left.

“It’s becoming more of a socialist party and that is not what I signed up for," he said, stressing that he will not vote with Republicans on every issue and "that's the way politics should be."
