No one captured by the cameras looked particularly peevish. As far as I know, no one in Hollywood had any problem with lionizing Polanski at the time. Maier. Maier is examining Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s complete distain for socialism and says this discussing a story Solzhenitsyn penned: Solzhenitsyn’s diplomat channels views that were clearly held by the author himself. Comfort and safety, enjoyed too long in the West, invite complacency—and complacency leads to stupidity. The truth of such should be transparent in this day and age.
