New Mueller evidence includes links to Bernie Sanders’ campaign chief strategist

New documents released by special counsel Robert Mueller related to the invsestigation into former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort list emails sent to Manafort by Thomas “Tad” Devine, the former chief strategist for the Bernie Sanders campaign.

Devine, who also worked on Al Gore and John Kerry’s failed presidential campaigns, exchanged multiple emails with Manafort, Robert Gates, and a Ukrainian man dubbed by Politico as “Manafort’s man in Kiev.”

What did Mueller release?

On Wednesday, Mueller filed a list of 500 pieces of evidence that his team is thinking about presenting during Manafort’s trial. The list contains emails between Manafort and his associates, as well as bank records, financial statements, and photographs.

What pieces of evidence were on the list?

Eleven emails sent from Devine are listed as evidence, as well as an additional email chain that he was a part of. 4 of these are addressed directly to Manafort, while others are addressed to Rick Gates, Manfort’s business partner and fellow Democratic consultant Julian Mulvey, and Kostantin Kilimnik, a Ukrainian national dubbed by Politico as “Manafort’s man in Kiev.” Kilimnik was trained by the Russian Army as a linguist, and also has a reported background in Russian intelligence.

Two additional pieces of evidence are listed as memos from Devine’s Democratic media consulting firm, Devine Mulvey Longabaugh, to Davis Manafort Partners in 2010. These are listed as “2010 Message Strategy Proposal #1” and “2010 Message Strategy Proposal #2.”
