Valin
The only thing more confounding than trying to understand the thoughts of murdering terrorists like those in Paris... is trying to understand what possibly could be going on in the minds of most MSM so called journalists. This is the second paragraph of CNN's lead story. The most important work item for the French government is to create "healing"? This sounds like code for preventing backlash against the killers? It also sounds like something we'd hear in a White House press briefing of from the mouth of the Ohole himself. The French government's work is not over. There's still a lot of healing to do, a lot of questions to answer about how to prevent future attacks, and the pursuit of a woman wanted in the policewoman's shooting. @NCTexan! I'm thankful that there won't be any "show trials" for the murderers....something that would probably happen in progressive America. The French gendarmes were not about to let them keep wasting air. The downside is dead men tell no tales.
righteousmomma
If the downside is that " dead men tell no tales" then the upside is that conspiracy theorists from Alex Jones on can gain more followers while "no go zones" proliferate. NCTexan
I had known there were areas that common sense would declare to you as "No Go Zones" in Paris and other major French cites... But the recent events and comments that the French government had identified them caused me to investigate. There are 751 areas in France today declared "Zones Urbaines Sensibles" or Sensitive Urban Zones or No Go Zones. Looking at this French website which identifies them and provides detailed maps is shocking... since we have traveled and safely walked the streets of so many of them is just 15 years ago. These areas are not just the far out housing project areas on the outskirts of Pars or Marseille... but in the center of all the major cites and almost every little "hometown" village. This site lists each of these zones grouped by region and city/town... with a detailed carte or map of each. I say again... SHOCKING!Listing of French 751 No Go Zones
righteousmomma
SHOCKING AND COMPLETELY SHOCKED. I had no clue that these zones are everywhere I ask in all seriousness - is this the result of European socialist government thinking ??? This is not the France we knew. Valin
SHOCKING AND COMPLETELY SHOCKED. I had no clue that these zones are everywhere I ask in all seriousness - is this the result of European socialist government thinking ??? This is not the France we knew. Thinking? No No No. Its Feeling that matters. one man's opinion, freely given and worth almost that much After WWII 3 things happened in Europe 1. They needed workers, because huge numbers of working age male were dead, Germany looked to Turkey, France to North Africa England to South Asia. Europe unlike America is not good at integrating immigrants/minorities into the broader society (We're not all that great but we do it much better than others). The immigrants as they always do (see Little Italy) congregated into gettos these were large high rise hell holes, the immigrants were never forced/invited to join the broader society, because it was assumed they would leave when the rebuilding was done (what happens when you assume?). 2. The idea that nationalism was a very bad thing and was the cause of the 2 wars. So if this is true then there is no reason to bring these immigrants into society because who's to say we're better than they are...(ie. multiculturalism/ PC) So when they didn't leave the governments just give them money, not enough to thrive but just enough so they wouldn't starve and cause problems. 3. Combine points 1 & 2 with the decline of Christianity that had been going on for the last 100 years, and here we are in the wonderful world of European Socialism....Ain't it great? So we end up with a whole bunch of really pissed off (and rightly so) young men who see no future and look into the bright lights of (say) Paris and the fume. Now along come the MB/Saudi Imams telling them "We Have The Answer...Islam" Not the old tired Islam of your parents, but a new vibrant powerful Islam, that can give you everything you want...a meaning/purpose...power...money...revenge. It's a devils stew...the perfect storm of chaos. At least that's what I think
righteousmomma
Valin, you left out a big problem though. The majority of the Muslims- least their spokesmen - did not and still do not want to assimilate. Even while we were there they were demanding rights such as separate swimming pools for females and males etc

righteousmomma
ALERT! Fox and Friends just showed a video from something called the Clarion Project that is scary, horrifying. A bunch of "(mostly African Americans recruited in prisons") Muslims military training in Hanccock, NEW YORK These Muslims "enclaves" are in several states - CALL THEMSELVES Muslims of America - MOA. The group members "basically worship" a radical cleric back in Pakistan. At least 22 villages in U.S. states according to FBI reports Looked for a link for Valin and here is the Clarion Project http://www.clarionproject.org/ Of course the Project and Fox News by relationship of using one of their guys for commentary are labeled "loony" and Islamophobic by several on a search engine look The Project states: "The Clarion Project (formerly Clarion Fund) is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating both policy makers and the public about the growing phenomenon of Islamic extremism. The Clarion Project is committed to working towards safeguarding human rights for all peoples."

I read Clarion Project regularly, Jamaat ul-Fuqra as I recall has been around for quite some time.....not to the Soviet/Afghan war, but almost. nickydog
The only comforting thought about that, @righteousmomma, is that if Fox news knows about it, so do a lot of other people. CIA, FBI, Homeland Security, etc. But I am glad it has been made public so the rest of us can be aware and watchful.

Valin
GREAT NEWS!!! for us neanderthal knuckle draggers Miss Universe Keeps Swimsuit Tradition Alive John Hinderaker January 11, 2015 In 2013, the Miss World organization dropped its swimsuit competition for the stated reason that the pageant was held in Indonesia, and violence was possible. Last month, the Miss World pageant was held in London and, without fanfare, the organizers again dispensed with the swimsuit competition. Many people didn’t notice, since the pageant wasn’t televised in North America. This leaves Miss Universe as the only major international beauty pageant that retains the traditional swimsuit element. Happily, Miss Universe is just around the corner: the finale will be televised from Miami two weeks from today, January 25, on NBC at 8 Eastern, 7 Central. Miss Universe (of which Miss USA is a part) is owned by Donald Trump, so the pageant will be hosted at the Trump Doral Miami. Former Miss USA Rima Fakih tweeted that a beauty pageant without a swimsuit competition is like an Oreo cookie without the cream filling. We can only endorse that sentiment.
