OK -- I'll tell you who I would GLADLY shoot!! That guy who left his precious, beautiful 22-month old baby boy to die in his sweltering SUV for 7 hours because he wanted to be child free!!! angry.png

Come to think of it, shooting would be too good for him. I wonder how long it would take for him to die in a sweltering car....

yes, sweltering car would take care of him

And it would take a long time. A lot longer than it took his little son to die.

Very Very VERY Cool!

I'm glad we all got to see this great footage. However, he was taking his chances: "But not everyone is impressed. Critics point out that flying a drone into fireworks is not only unsafe but illegal. "Totally irresponsible. Flying over people is a big NONO," one YouTube user commented.

During fireworks displays, authorities establish no-fly safety zones to protect the public. According to Forbes, the punishment for violating a safety zone is a $40,000 fine and for willful violations is a Class D felony, publishable by at least five years in prison."

Yep. Although there was not a crowd of people below as it was on barges in a lake. Flying drones for almost anything is illegal still as FAA can't figure out what to do.

James Cameron wants you to eat all the plants to stop global warming
Jazz Shaw
July 5, 2014

Remember, this is the same guy who dove to the bottom of Challenger Deep, so he probably knows something about, er… something. Apparently, one of the next big projects for James Cameron has nothing to do with 100 year old wrecks or ten foot tall blue people who plug their pony tails into their dragons. The director and his wife are ready to convince all of you to eat nothing but plants. For your health? Not just that… it’s also to stop global warming, of course.

Throughout the summary of the study results, the authors stubbornly refuse to hone in on the one detail that I’m sure we’re all wondering. Are they talking about the average carbon output from beef farming when divided by the number of people who eat steak? Because both the title and the descriptions in the following paragraph make it sound like they’re measuring the personal, er… gaseous emissions of the meat eaters in the study.

I know the climate warriors are a dedicated bunch and can find an angle to tie climate change into virtually every discussion, but this may have been a bit above and beyond the call here. I mean, who is it that was doing the “measuring” of these “emissions” and how was that managed? Inquiring minds want to know! (Okay… most of us probably don’t, actually.)

Son Skips Church, Father Arrested for Child Endangerment
Jordan Richardson
July 07, 2014

What started out as a normal Sunday morning for Jeffrey Williamson of Blanchester, Ohio, turned into a nightmare when police officers showed up to his front door and arrested him in front of his family. His crime? Child endangerment—as the authorities described it—because his son skipped church to go play with friends. He now faces up to six months in jail.

According to Williamson, the local Woodville Baptist Church sends a van to his neighborhood twice a week to offer free transportation to those interested in attending services. Williamson’s children ride the van regularly on Wednesdays and Sundays. This morning was no different, as his eight-year-old son Justin and siblings said goodbye to their father and left their house to board the van.

One problem: Justin skipped church and went to play instead.

The young boy stayed in the neighborhood to play with friends and then later ended up at the local Family Dollar store down the road. After police officers were called to the store by a customer who recognized Justin, they took him back to his neighborhood where they proceeded to arrest his father for child endangerment.

Hotel owners face prison, fines for hiring undocumented workers

Munir Ahmad Chaudary, Rhonda Bridge own Clarion hotels in OP, near KCI

Jeffrey Field

7/7/14

KANSAS CITY, Mo. A couple who owns two hotels in the Kansas City metropolitan area face up to five years in prison and $500,000 in fines after pleading guilty to a federal charge of hiring undocumented workers.

Prosecutors said Munir Ahmad Chaudary, 53, and Rhonda Bridge, 41, both of Overland Park, Kansas, paid the undocumented workers at the Clarion hotels at 7000 W. 108th St. in Overland Park and at 11828 NW Plaza Circle in Kansas City less than other employees. The couple also didn't pay Social Security, workers compensation and unemployment insurance for those workers.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Kansas Department of Revenue began investigating the couple in late 2011. The following June, an undercover agent posed as an undocumented worker to get a job at the Overland Park hotel. Investigators said he told the employers that he wasn't authorized to work in the United States and was hired anyway.

Reid promises response to Hobby Lobby decision......
PAIGE WINFIELD CUNNINGHAM
07/08/14

REID: HOBBY LOBBY FIX ON TO-DO LIST — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on the floor yesterday that Democrats are going to do “something” in the coming weeks to address the Supreme Court’s decision in the Hobby Lobby case last month. Democrats have decried the decision and vowed to restore the coverage requirements, though they’ve not yet outlined specific plans for legislation. Sen. Patty Murray is taking the lead on the legislative effort and Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin has said he will introduce a measure that would require corporations now exempted from the Obamacare mandate to disclose their coverage policy to their employees and job applicants. http://politi.co/1n8vaBH

RNC picks Cleveland for 2016

Rebecca Shabad

7/8/14

Republicans have picked Cleveland as the host city for their 2016 convention.

Cleveland was declared the winner over runner-up Dallas by a 12-member site selection committee on Tuesday.

The Republican National Committee’s 168 members must still ratify the decision at a meeting next month, but that is expected to be a formality.

Udall cancels appearance with Obama

Justin Sink

7/9/14

Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) scrapped plans to join President Obama at a fundraiser in his home state on Wednesday, saying that he needed to remain in Washington for last-minute votes.

The absence of the vulnerable Colorado lawmaker will again raise questions about whether President Obama and his middling approval ratings are an asset or liability for Senate Democrats as they fight to keep control of the upper chamber this fall.

Udall's campaign said the Colorado lawmaker did not want to miss the confirmation vote for San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, who was nominated to become the next secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Plus nobody met him at the airport, other than the ubiquitous military guy waiting to receive the reluctant presidential salute. Not even Gov. Hickenlooper, who is also up for reelection. There was just a black car waiting at the bottom of the airplane stairs to wisk the never-ending-fundraiser to his hotel or wherever the heck he stayed.

Berkeley, California orders free pot for poor patients

A California college town known for its liberal activism has voted to make medicinal marijuana dispensaries give away free a small amount of their pot to the poor.

Berkeley City Council members voted unanimously late on Tuesday to instruct local outlets to provide marijuana equal to 2 percent of their sales to patients on low incomes.
