If I blindfolded someone and took him at 2 oclock in the morning into the airport in Hong Kong and said, Where do you think you are? hed say, This must be America, its a modern airport.' If I took him blindfolded and took you to LaGuardia Airport in New York, you must think, I must be in some Third World country. Im not joking!

I've always been interested in the Civil War Era.....and a student of the armies & lines of battle. This is a pretty good lament from the Southern aspect. Hopefully we can lawfully remove the usurpers from our Republic & not shed blood like the 1860's.

King Richard III's genome to be sequenced

Stephanie Pappas

February 11, 2014

The genetic code of King Richard III, the medieval monarch whose body was found buried under a parking lot in Leicester, England, is set to be sequenced.

Researchers at the University of Leicester announced the project Tuesday. The goal, they said, is to catalog as complete a genome as possible from the king to learn more about his ancestry and health.

"It is an extremely rare occurrence that archaeologists are involved in the excavation of a known individual, let alone a king of England," Turi King, a geneticist at the University of Leicester who will lead the project, said in a statement.

James Taranto Will Tell You When You've Been Raped, Ladies

Philip Bump

The Wall Street Journal's James Taranto would like society to spend a little more time holding young women accountable for having been sexually assaulted, because James Taranto is apparently incapable of acknowledging that there exist cultural imbalances that act entirely in his favor.

Drunkenness and Double Standards
A balanced look at college sex offenses.

James Taranto

2/10/14

The headline in the New York Times's Education Life section reads "Stepping Up to Stop Sexual Assault." The story, by reporter Michael Winerip, is more balanced than that.

Unlike many journalists writing about this subject, Winerip acknowledges the problem of wrongful accusation. He recounts the story of Dez Wells, who was a star basketball player at Ohio's Xavier University. A female student went to the campus police claiming Wells had raped her. He denied the charge, saying that the pair had consensual sex after a game of truth or dare. Investigators concluded no rape had occurred. "It wasn't close," prosecutor Joseph Deters tells Winerip. A grand jury declined to hand up an indictment.

Mr. Bump may very well be on the edge of learning a very valuable lesson.....ie don't mess with James Taranto.

More Diversity Madness: “Gender-Neutral” Woman Sues Employer After Co-Workers Refer To Her As A Female… http://weaselzippers.us/173457-more-diversity-madness-gender-neutral-woman-sues-employer-after-co-workers-refer-to-her-as-a-female/

According to this article, “the LGBTQ community” uses the term “they” to describe a gender-neutral person. You learn something new every day.

Via The Oregonian: http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2014/02/gender-neutral_employee_sues_f.html

A former catering worker who identifies as neither female or male is suing Bon Appetit Management Co. for $518,000, claiming co-workers referred to the employee as a female though repeatedly being asked to stop.

Valeria Jones alleges in a lawsuit that co-workers repeatedly called Jones “miss,” “lady” and “little lady” despite explanations that Jones “was not a female or a male and that the term was unwelcome.”

Workers also directly said Jones looked like a woman and made female celebrity comparisons, the suit states.

The lawsuit, filed this week in Multnomah County Circuit Court, says Jones preferred to be addressed by a general neutral pronoun. The suit doesn’t identify the term.

The term “they” — rather than “he” or “she” — is sometimes used to refer to a gender-neutral individual in the LGBTQ communities.

Question: "It" is gender neutral....isn't it?
