Unfortunately that is not the end of the story. I heard on the news yesterday that the Iraqi troops left after the victory - left no residual troops there. There were people celebrating in the streets. Isis came back and slaughtered them.

Muslim Fulani Herdsmen Slaughter Dozens of Christians in Nigerian Village

(CNSNews.com) – Muslim Fulani herdsmen attacked villagers in the village of Godogodo, Nigeria on October 15 with guns and machetes, burning down homes, killing more than 40 people and injuring dozens more.

It was the second attack on the predominantly Christian village in as many months.

The Morning Star News’ field reporter in Nigeria, Obed Minchakpu, spoke with villagers who survived the brutal attack. He confirmed to CNSNews.com that the attackers were Muslim Fulani herdsmen who have been targeting Christians for more than two years.

Rev. Thomas Akut, pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Good News Church in Godogodo, told Morning Star News that he and his family barely escaped the massacre.

Reverend Akut added that the attacks have left all 245 members of his congregation homeless, including himself and his family.

Christians Martyred by ISIS: 1,131

(CNSNews.com) – A report submitted to the State Department earlier this year documented that between 2003 and June 9, 2014, at least 1,131 Christians – identified by name and place of death – had been murdered by the radical Muslims that comprise the Islamic State, also known as ISIS.

In addition, at least 125 Christian churches had been attacked or destroyed by ISIS.

The report, Genocide Against Christians in the Middle East, was submitted to Secretary of State John Kerry on March 9, 2016 by the Knights of Columbus and the humanitarian group In Defense of Christians. Eight days later, March 17, Kerry officially declared that ISIS’s ongoing actions against Christians, Yazidis, and other religious minorities constituted genocide.

Britain, the European Parliament, the U.N.’s High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Iraqi and Kurdish governments have also declared ISIS’s actions genocide.Scissors-32x32.png

2011, Christians in Syria 1.25 Million; 2016, Christians in Syria Less Than 500,000

(CNSNews.com) – As the Islamic State, insurgents, and government forces battle in Syria, the population of Christians there continues to decline, from 1,250,000 in 2011 to less than 500,000 this year, according to ADF International, which advocates for religious freedom worldwide.

In a sub-report submitted with the report Genocide Against Christians in the Middle East to Secretary of State John Kerry in March, the ADF International details the ongoing genocide of Christians and other religious minorities in the Middle East.

It notes that “Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world” and that in at least 104 countries Christians are harassed and persecuted by governments and organizations.

The harassment includes “physical assaults, arrests and detentions, the desecration of holy sites and discrimination against religious groups in employment, education or housing,” reads the report.Scissors-32x32.png

Kurdish Peshmerga Christians Restore Cross on St. George Church in Bashiqa, Iraq After Lberating Town From ISIS

Kurdish Peshmerga forces recently liberated the town of Bashiqa from ISIS occupation in Iraq.

The local Christians restored the crucifix on St. George Syriac Orthodox Church in the town.
ISIS destroyed all our shrines, looted many houses and burned them after stealing all the expensive furnitures.

Islam's Jihad on the Christian Cross

By Raymond Ibrahim

What more evidence is needed to prove that Islam is at war with Christianity than its well documented hatred for the quintessential symbol of Christianity: the cross?

This recently occurred to me as I was surfing Arabic-language videos and websites discussing Christianity – only to encounter one hostile video, fatwa, or sermon after another against the cross.

Only one seemingly spoke well of the cross – though for a reason that again demonstrated Islam's hostility for Christians. According to Al Azhar professor Dr. Salim Abdul Galil, Muslims can be tolerant of the cross – they can even wear and pray before it – but only when in need of deceiving Christians, whom the learned cleric portrayed as the natural enemies of Muslims.

The most telling talk show featured Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Tarifi, a Saudi expert on Islamic law. Asked about Islam's ruling on whether any person Scissors-32x32.pnghttp://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/11/islams_jihad_on_the_christian_cross.html

This Advent, Remember the Persecuted Christians

Forgotten by the Obama administration, those celebrating Christmas in the Middle East are being slaughtered

December 13, 2016

by Katie Nations | Updated 13 Dec 2016 at 7:40 AM

This is a time of year when Americans are free to celebrate the Christmas season and when Christians gather together to worship Christ, the Newborn King.

For many of us, the faith challenges we run into include whether or not a nativity scene or cross can be displayed on public property. Then there’s this: Is it acceptable to wish someone a “Merry Christmas” instead of the more generic “happy holidays”? And is the holiday cup at Starbucks “Christmasy” enough — or should these cups be boycotted this season?

These signs of cultural warfare should not be made light of or ignored, certainly. But in other countries, less fortunate Christians are literally fearing for and even losing their lives to violence and persecution.

Islamic extremists have attacked Christians so many times it's hard to recall them all. Most recently, on Dec. 11, 2016, a bomb was thrown into a small chapel at St. Mark's Cathedral in Cairo toward the end of Sunday Mass. This is Egypt's main Coptic Church. Some two dozen people were killed and 35 more were injured. Scissors-32x32.pnghttp://www.lifezette.com/faithzette/this-advent-remember-persecuted-christians/

"Now Is Time to Behead Unbelievers" Muslim Persecution of Christians

Via Mike

The Turkish government recently banned Orthodox Christian liturgy in the Sumela Monastery, a historic site inaugurated in 386 AD, roughly 1,000 years before Muslim Turks conquered Asia Minor.
  • "[W]e heard that the [iSIS] militants grabbed six strong men working at the bakery and burned them inside the oven. After that, they caught some 250 kids and kneaded them like dough in the bakery dough machine.... Members of 200 different families were killed right before our eyes." — Syria.
  • Some Christian and Yazidi women captured by ISIS militants were sold at auctions in Saudi Arabia, America's close friend, which is supposedly part of the coalition fighting ISIS. — Saudi Arabia.

CHRISTOPHOBIA: A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE

Interesting times these are.

While the Pope of my church seems to spare no occasion to castigate Western societies for allegedly not doing enough to welcome and accommodate Islamic refugees from the Middle East, he rarely says anything about the epidemic of anti-Christian persecution around the world.

In stark contrast, while addressing the topic of Middle Easterners who are seeking refuge in the United States, President Trump—who, readers may recall, Pope Francis once suggested wasn’t really a Christian because of his expressed desire to build a wall along America’s southern border—explicitly resolved to provide relief for Christians.

Trump’s critics immediately pounced on him for religious discrimination.

Some context on this matter readily reveals that the Pope’s view is as morally confused as the President’s is sensible.

Firstly, contrary to what the Christophobes would have us believe, Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world today. In 2016, approximately 900,000 Christians suffered persecution.Scissors-32x32.png

U.S. General Visits Egypt Following Murderous Terror Attacks on Christians

(CNSNews.com) – A top U.S. general is visiting Egypt at a time when the government is under fire for its response to an evidently orchestrated terrorist campaign of killings targeting minority Coptic Christians in northern Sinai.

U.S. Central Command commander Gen. Joseph Votel on Sunday described Egypt as “one of our most important partners in the region” and said his talks with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and others would explore ways to strengthen the partnership in the fight against terrorism and in promoting stability.

Underlining the nature of the threat, hundreds of Coptic families have fled the town of El-Arish on Sinai’s Mediterranean coast in recent days, to escape a campaign of violence attributed to the Sinai affiliate of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group.Scissors-32x32.png

IF YOU LOVE JESUS, THEN DIE LIKE JESUS!’

Another month of atrocities—any of which, if they were committed by Christians against Muslims, would’ve received mass media coverage.

Reports of Christian life under the Islamic State (ISIS) continued throughout November. Many of these came from the ancient Christian towns surrounding Mosul, such as Batnaya and Qaraqosh, conquered by ISIS in August, 2014, and liberated in late October, 2016.

One Christian man, Esam, from Qaraqosh, related what ISIS did after his sister's husband refused to convert to Islam: "He was crucified and tortured in front of his wife and children, who were forced to watch. They [iSIS] told him that if he loved Jesus that much, he would die like Jesus." The Islamic militants tortured his brother-in-law from 6 in the evening until 11: "[T]hey cut his stomach open and shot him before leaving him hanging, crucified." Two other members of Esam's family, a Christian couple, were abducted and separated by ISIS. To this day, the husband does not know where his wife is; he only knows that she was turned into a concubine, a sex-slave.

Karlus, a 29-year-old Christian, told how ISIS members broke into his elderly father's home in Batnaya and began to destroy crosses and tear up a picture of Christ. When Karlus tried to stop them, he was taken and tortured: they "hung him from the ceiling of the jail he was held in, by a rope attached to his left foot. As blood poured from his foot, they beat and kicked him, rubbing salt into his wounds. He was sexually abused in prison by three women wearing niqabs [black veils]. He was told he would be shot dead," said the report. Seven weeks later he was released.

Another handful of Christians told how they "were threatened, forced to spit on a crucifix or convert to Islam," but they "miraculously survived more than two years under Islamic State group rule."Scissors-32x32.png

A NEW GENOCIDE FOR EGYPT’S CHRISTIANS?

Yet another murderous wave is taking Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority by storm, leading to yet another exodus from their homes.

Last week in al-Arish, Sinai, Islamic State affiliates killed a 65-year-old Christian man by shooting him in the head; they then abducted and tortured his 45-year-old son, before burning him alive and dumping his charred remains near a schoolyard.

Perhaps because of its sensationalist nature—burning a human alive—this story was reported by some Western media. Yet the atrocities hardly begin or end there. Below is a list of Christians murdered in al-Arish in recent days and weeks:

January 30: A 35-year-old Christian was in his small shop working with his wife and young son when three masked men walked in, opened fire on him, instantly killing the Copt. The murderers then sat around his table, eating chips and drinking soda, while the body lay in a pool of blood before the terrified wife and child.

February 13: A 57-year-old Christian laborer was shot and killed as he tried to fight off masked men trying to kidnap his young son from off a crowded street in broad daylight. After murdering the father, they seized his young son and took him to an unknown location (where, per precedent, he is likely being tortured, possibly already killed, if a hefty ransom was not already paid).Scissors-32x32.png

Palm Sunday begins Holy Week, the most sacred week of the church calendar for Christians.

palmsundaylarge-300x230.jpg

But in Egypt this morning, a bomb exploded outside St. Mark’s Coptic Church in Alexandria. Another went off in St. George’s Church in Tanta, 50 miles north of Cairo. The current death toll appears to be around 30 people, including three police officers. And who has claimed responsibility? Why, ISIS of course. Scissors-32x32.png

Moment suspected suicide bomber appears to attack Egyptian church:
Moment one of two ISIS suicide bombers detonates outside Egyptian church after being turned away by three hero policemen in Palm Sunday massacre 'aimed at Coptic Pope' that killed 43 Christians
This is the moment an ISIS suicide bomber detonated outside an Egyptian church after being turned away by three hero policemen in the second of two attacks that killed 43 Christians and wounded 100.
CCTV shows the fanatic, dressed in a blue pullover, approaching the gate at St Mark's in Alexandria but being told to go through the metal detector first by the officers.
He then passes a female police officer chatting to another woman, and enters a metal detector before an explosion engulfs the area.
The atrocity, which followed another attack in Tanta, was thought to have been aimed at Pope Tawadros II, leader of the ancient Coptic church, who was worshipping in St Mark's at the time but escaped unharmed.
The blasts, claimed by Islamic State, came at the start of Holy Week leading up to Easter, and just weeks before Pope Francis is due to visit the Arab world's most populous country

Extermination of Christians in Egypt Not Getting Enough Attention: Piers Morgan Asks, ‘Why?’

(CNSNews.com) – A three-month nationwide state of emergency took effect in Egypt on Monday, following the terror attacks on two Christian churches that killed at least 44 people on Palm Sunday.

ISIS said it sent suicide bombers to the two churches, one in Alexandria and one in Tanta. The head of the Coptic Christian church, Pope Tawadros II, was inside the cathedral in Alexandria when the bomb exploded, but he was not hurt.

ISIS also bombed a Cairo church in December, killing 30 people there, and it has threatened more violence directed at Christians, saying their blood will flow “like rivers,” the Associated Press reported.

While terror attacks in Paris, Nice, London and Sweden all got “huge attention,” the ones in Egypt did not, and that’s a problem, Piers Morgan, the editor-at-large at Daily Mail.com, told Fox News’s Tucker Carlson Monday night.

Egyptian Christians Cancel Easter Festivities in Mourning Over Palm Sunday Massacre

The main Christian diocese in Egypt has announced that it will not hold Easter celebrations this year, in mourning for the 46 Coptic Christians killed in the Palm Sunday massacre brought about by twin jihadist bombings.

The Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Minya, located in southern Egypt, said Tuesday that commemorations of the Resurrection of Jesus will limited to the liturgical prayers “without any festive manifestations” out of respect for the faithful who were slain by suicide bombers of the Islamic State.Scissors-32x32.png

Muslim Anti-Christian Incitement Rises in Crisis-Torn Egypt

CAIRO (AFP) – For years, Egyptian Copt Michel Fahmy could hear a Muslim preacher invoking God’s wrath on Christians in sermons blared over loudspeakers from a mosque near his home.

The radical message, he says, is a reason for jihadist attacks on his minority like the twin bombings of churches on Sunday that killed 45 people.

Sunday’s attacks followed a December 11 suicide bombing in a Cairo church. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for all three.

“In mosques there are prayers to harm Christians,” says Fahmy, referring to Friday prayer sermons in which some preachers lead congregations in imprecations against Islam’s “enemies”.

“They incite to violence, youths are being filled with hatred against us and acting on it,” says the 50-year old who runs a souvenir shop in Cairo.

“It concerns us all. It leads to terrorism and to Christians being targeted,” he adds.Scissors-32x32.png

Coptic Christians’ Endless Struggle for Survival in Egypt

The Copts have been persecuted for thousands of years. ISIS’s brutal Palm Sunday bombing in Alexandria is just the latest episode.

Viewed from the outside, there is nothing remarkable about Saint Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria, where an Islamic State terrorist blew himself up during the Palm Sunday liturgy last weekend, leaving 17 people dead. The building is new, erected in 1952 and renovated several times since, but the site itself is much older — so old, in fact, that it can tell the story of the Coptic Church itself, in all its triumph and despair.

It was his first day in Alexandria and Saint Mark, the Evangelist, walked around the city bedazzled by its wonders. The small village that Alexander the Great had chosen to build into a city bearing his name had grown to equal Rome in its greatness. By night, as the strap of his sandal fell off, Mark stopped at the first shoemaker he found. While repairing the sandal, the shoemaker accidentally pierced his finger. “Heis ho Theos,” Anianus, the shoemaker, screamed. God is one. Mark took some mud from the ground, put it on the wound and miraculously healed Anianus’s hand. Mark began telling him how Jesus had died on the cross for mankind’s sins, preaching to him the message of Christ. The message fell on a welcoming heart. Anianus took Mark to his home and, with the rest of his family, converted. The Evangelist baptized them and, in due time, ordained Anianus as the city’s bishop.Scissors-32x32.png
