As Egypt’s Islamists blame Christians for the ouster of Mohammed Morsi, anti-Christian violence has reached epidemic levels, with an estimated 82 churches across Egypt attacked and heavily damaged by Morsi supporters in a mere 48 hours.

 

Unfortunately, the persecution of Christians is nothing new in Egypt or other Muslim-majority countries. But thanks to the mainstream media, few Westerners understand the true scale or nature of the horrors involved.

 

As you read this, Christians around the world are being murdered, raped, plundered, abducted, forcibly converted to Islam, or otherwise oppressed by Muslims. Christians in Muslim-majority areas are some of the most vulnerable and horribly oppressed people on Earth; they live at the mercy of the mob and receive little or no protection from the police or other government institutions.

In a column published August 22, The Daily Beast's Kirsten Powers wrote that the Muslim Brotherhood, "the group that 'renounced violence' in order gain political power," is now showing its "true colors" with its war on Coptic Christians.

CHRISTIAN SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HANGING FOR DRINKING WATER RESERVED FOR MUSLIMS

 

 

Aasiya Noreen "Asia" Bibi has been sentenced to death by hanging in Pakistan for drinking water "from a well belonging to Muslim women, [and] using 'their' cup in the burning heat of the midday sun."

According the The New York Post, Asia described her plight thus: "I have been sentenced to death because I was thirsty. I'm a prisoner because I used the same cup as those Muslim women, because water served by a Christian woman was regarded as unclean by my stupid fellow fruit pickers."

After her initial lockup, Asia was then moved to a remote prison, where she sits isolated in a cell. She says she has no idea how long she has to live and admits that her heart beats faster every time her cell door is opened.

Killing Copts for Ransom in Egypt

 

Not only are the churches, monasteries, and institutions of Egypt’s Christians under attack by the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters—nearly 100 now have been torched, destroyed, ransacked, etc.—but Christians themselves are under attack all throughout Egypt, with practically zero coverage in Western media.

 

Days ago, for example, Copts held a funeral for Wahid Jacob, a young Christian deacon who used to serve in St. John the Baptist Church, part of the Qusiya diocese in Asyut, Egypt. He was kidnapped on August 21 by “unknown persons” who demanded an exorbitant ransom from his impoverished family—1,200,000 Egyptian pounds (equivalent to $171,000 USD). Because his family could not raise the sum, he was executed—his body dumped in a field where it was later found. The priest who conducted his funeral service said that the youth’s body bore signs of severe torture.

While U.S. leaders continue pushing for war against the Syrian government, today “Al-Qaeda-linked rebels,”reports AP, “launched an assault on a regime-held Christian mountain village in the densely populated west of Syria and new clashes erupted near the capital, Damascus, on Wednesday… In the attack on the village of Maaloula, rebels commandeered a mountaintop hotel and nearby caves and shelled the community below, said a nun, speaking by phone from a convent in the village. She spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.”

 

Arabic news agency Al Hadath gives more information concerning this latest terror attack on Syria’s Christians, specifically how the al-Qaeda linked rebels “terrorized the Christians, threatening to be avenged on them after the triumph of the revolution.”

ISLAMISTS KILL FIVE CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA BECAUSE OF THEIR FAITH

 

 

On September 2, Islamists in Nigeria ambushed a minibus, ordered passengers to exit, and then shot those that were Christian.

The incident took place near the central city of Jos. Those killed were members of "a Church of Christ in Nations congregation in... Foron."

According to BosNewsLife, passengers that identified as Christians were ordered to lie down on the side of the road and were executed. Those killed ranged in age from 22 to 40.

Syrian rebels fight army near Christian village

The rebels launched the assault on the ancient Christian village of Maaloula — which is on a UNESCO list of tentative world heritage sites — on Wednesday after an al-Nusra fighter blew himself up at a regime checkpoint at the entrance to the mountain village. The village, about 40 miles (60 kilometers) northeast of Damascus, is home to 3,300 residents, some of whom still speak a version of Aramaic, the ancient language of biblical times believed to have been spoken by Jesus.

Rebels have attacked a Christian village in the war torn country of Syria, beheading priests and brutally killing others. Not surprisingly, the rebels have ties to al Qaeda.

 

The rebels launched the assault on the ancient Christian village of Maaloula _ which is on a UNESCO list of tentative world heritage sites _ on Wednesday after an al-Nusra fighter blew himself up at a regime checkpoint at the entrance to the mountain village. The village, about 40 miles (60 kilometers) northeast of Damascus, is home to about 2,000 residents, some of whom still speak a version of Aramaic, the ancient language of biblical times believed to have been spoken by Jesus.

 

Heavy clashes between President Bashar Assad's troops and Nusra Front fighters persisted in surrounding mountains Thursday, according to the Observatory, which collects information from a network of anti-regime activists.

 

Speaking by phone from a convent in the village, a nun told The Associated Press that the rebels left a mountaintop hotel Thursday after capturing it a day earlier. The nun said the frightened residents expect the Islamic militants to return to the Safir hotel and resume shelling of the community below.

More information on yesterday’s al-Qaeda led attack on the Christian village of Maaloula near Damascus, Syria. Not only did they firebomb the village, and threaten to slaughter all Christians once the U.S. helps “liberate” Syria, but they also fired missiles and mortars at two ancient churches, St. Alias Church and St. Grace Church, while spraying the entrances of the churches with bullets.

 

Around eight defenders of the village were killed by the al-Qaeda led jihadis, who in the video below can be heard shouting “Allahu Akbar,” Islam’s ancient war cry. Nonetheless, John McCain, who wants the U.S. to aid al-Qaeda in Syria, absurdly insists that shouting “Allahu Akbar” is equivalent to a Christian saying “Thank God,” and that the rebels in Syria are “moderates and I guarantee you they are moderates.”

Christians Butchered In Guinea

 

Great havoc and violence has arisen in Guinea, in which a substantial amount of churches have been destroyed, and an immense amount of Christians have been killed. Jihadist-provoked violence left ninety-five people dead, and a hundred and thirty wounded.

 

In Nzérékoré, five churches have been attacked and looted, and the homes of four pastors attacked by Muslim mobs. One priest, Fr. Joseph, recounted the violence:

 

 

The two Catholic and Protestant churches have all been ransacked and burned … Almost all the houses and shops belonging to Christians or people affiliated with Christians, have not escaped the fury of attackers.

 

The Catholic area, including the quarters of the nuns and the Presbyter, was looted and set to flames. Moreover, in Beyla, the Center for Youth Development, a conference room, an Internet cafe, a primary school and a library, were ravaged and devastated.

 

Beyla’s regional deputy of health services, Dr. Tolon Loua, was killed during the violence, as Fr. Joseph says:

 

He was inside of his house when the assailants arrived and set it on fire … Badly burned, he was transported to the hospital where he was later declared dead.

Afghan Christian Converts Should Be Executed, Afghan Lawmakers Say

 

CNSNews.com) – Fifteen months ahead of the planned withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Afghanistan, an anti-Christian hate campaign involving several leading Afghan lawmakers and some media outlets is raising additional concerns about the future of religious freedom in the conservative Islamic country.

Advocacy groups say the anger is directed at Afghan Christians in India – where thousands of Afghan refugees remain and a small church congregation meets in New Delhi – and that the lawmakers concerned are calling for them to face the death penalty.

Converts from Islam to Christianity should be killed according to Islamic law (shari’a), in a bid to stop the growth of Christianity among Afghans inside and outside the country, according to one leading member of parliament cited by the Afghan Voice Agency news service.

Chaldean Catholic Leader: If Syrian Army Flees Aleppo, Christians ‘Will Be Massacred’

 

(CNSNews.com) – About 200,000 Christians still reside in the battle-weary city of Aleppo, Syria, but if the Syrian Army retreats in the face of ongoing attacks by Islamist rebels, the Christians “will be massacred,” said Rev. Raymond Moussalli, the patriarchal vicar of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Jordan, which borders Syria on the south.

 

Rev. Moussalli has spent many years ministering to Christians who have fled from Iraq (along the western border) into Amman, Jordan – Aleppo, Syria is about 320 miles north of Amman. Last week, Father Raymond was among 50-plus regional Christian leaders, and Muslim scholars, who spoke at a conference in Amman against Western military intervention into the region.

 

“The Syrian Army is protecting the Christian community [in Aleppo],” said Rev. Moussalli, as reported by BBC Monitoring Middle East. “But if [the Army] leaves, they will be massacred.”

BROTHERHOOD IMPOSES JIZYA TRIBUTE ON EGYPT’S CHRISTIANS

 

Now that the attacks on Egypt’s Christian churches have subsided, stage two of the jihad — profiting from the fear and terror caused by stage one — is setting in: reports are arriving that the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters are forcing the roughly 15,000 Christian Copts of Dalga village in south Minya province to pay jizya — the money, or tribute, that conquered non-Muslims historically had to pay to their Islamic overlords “with willing submission and while feeling themselves subdued” to safeguard their existence, as indicated in Koran 9:29.

 

According to Fr. Yunis Shawqi, who spoke yesterday to Dostor reporters in Dalga, all Copts in the village, “without exception,” are being forced to pay tribute, just as their forefathers did nearly 1400 years ago when the sword of Islam originally invaded Christian Egypt. He said that the “value of the tribute and method of payment differ from one place to another in the village, so that, some are being expected to pay 200 Egyptian pounds per day, others 500 Egyptian pounds per day…”

 

In some cases, those not able to pay have been attacked, their wives and children beaten and/or kidnapped. As a result, some 40 Christian families have now fled Dalga, joining the ever growing list of displaced Christians in the Middle East.

Muslim Persecution of Christians: Summer of Horror for Women

 

 

The degradation of Christian women living in the Islamic world continued in the month of June. In Syria, after the al-Qaeda linked rebel group conquered Qusair, a city of the governate of Homs, 15-year-old Mariam was kidnapped, repeatedly gang raped according to a fatwa legitimizing the rape of non-Sunni women by any Muslim waging jihad against Syria’s government, and then executed.

 

 

According to Agenzia Fides, “The commander of the battalion ‘Jabhat al-Nusra’ in Qusair took Mariam, married and raped her. Then he repudiated her. The next day the young woman was forced to marry another Islamic militant. He also raped her and then repudiated her. The same trend was repeated for 15 days, and Mariam was raped by 15 different men. This psychologically destabilized her and made her insane. Mariam became mentally unstable and was eventually killed.”

 

In Pakistan, Muslim men stormed the home of three Christian women, beat them, stripped them naked and tortured them, and then paraded them in the nude in a village in the Kasur district. Days earlier, it seems the goats of the Christian family had accidentally trespassed onto Muslim land; Muslims sought to make an example of the Christian family, who, as third-class citizens, must know their place at all times.

Christians in Egypt Targeted With Charges of 'Religious Defamation'

(CNSNews.com) – The wielding of “religious defamation” lawsuits have surged in Egypt in the two-and-a-half years since the Mubarak regime was ousted, an Egyptian human rights group has found. Christians have been disproportionately targeted.

The release Wednesday of a study by the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR) coincided with the first day of the Coptic new year. (The Coptic calendar dates back to the start of the reign of the Roman emperor Diocletian in 284, so the year beginning on Wednesday is 1730.)

Coptic Pope Tawadros II marked the day with a sermon in Cairo’s St Mark’s Cathedral comparing Egypt’s situation today with labor pains.

“After a few hours, all of this will turn into happiness when a child is born and a new life begins,” he said.
