A thought occurred to me just now. Maybe one of the reason the Obama WH has not been more forthcoming on this is they know soon wild accusations will start to come out and make those of us who have been following/obsessing on this look well...nuts.

Thanks Valin.......and shove it where it don't shine!

Very interesting that CNN running this as a lead story on their main web page.

Why Benghazi matters

Program note: Was there a political cover up surrounding the Benghazi attack that killed four Americans? Erin Burnett anchors a CNN special investigation: The Truth About Benghazi, Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET.

Washington (CNN) -- Nearly a year later, Benghazi remains a flashpoint in Washington for two very different reasons: indefensible pre-attack policy decisions and irresistible post-attack politics.

The Obama White House, from the president on down, complains of "phony" Republican-led congressional investigations. Yet the administration's own reluctant, and at times inaccurate, responses to congressional inquiries have contributed to the GOP charge that the administration, at a minimum, has been less than transparent.

"We need to get to the bottom of what happened that terrible night, why it happened, and how we can prevent similar tragedies in the future," House Speaker John Boehner said last week in serving notice the House Benghazi investigations would continue into the fall, and include new subpoenas for documents and testimony if necessary.Scissors-32x32.png

Excellent. Nice to see someone other than Fox News covering this....even though it happened a long time ago, what does it matter, and its a phoney scandal.

The thing is This did not have to happen. Both the attack and what happened after. If on Sept.12/13/14/15 Obama/Clinton had come out and said, We have looked at this and now know We Screwed Up. We Blew this Big time, and we are going to try and see this doesn't happen again. End of story.

Relief of Benghazi Defenders? President Jarrett votes No!

by Datechguy | August 5th, 2013

My friend Chip Jones has a bombshell today:

Confidential sources close to Conservative Report have confirmed that Valerie Jarrett was the key decision-maker for the administration on the night of the Benghazi terrorist attack on 9/11/2012.

Jones’ story reports that relief was available not waiting in Europe for the call but on the tarmac of Tripoli:

Had the C-130 Spooky been on station, over the CIA Annex in Benghazi, moments before the mortar rounds were fired, the entire outcome of the Benghazi fiasco would have been different.

Add to that, a team of Green Berets on the ground to secure and/or evacuate the Annex, and the outcome would have been two SEALS still alive, and a mess of dead terrorists.

Now even though those assets were in Tripoli they are restricted in their use by “Cross Border Authority” Scissors-32x32.png

Update: Mike Rogers reminds us of some history Scissors-32x32.pnghttp://datechguyblog.com/2013/08/05/relief-of-benghazi-defenders-president-jarrett-votes-no/

Benghazi: Is the Alleged CIA Scandal Real?

John Hinderaker

August 6, 2013

Over the last week, there has been a lot of buzz about a supposed CIA angle to the Benghazi story. Specifically, it has been alleged that a substantial number of CIA employees were on the ground in Benghazi, carrying out a mission that involved rounding up Libyan weapons and transferring them to rebels in Syria. Further, it has been reported that the CIA has leaned on its employees not to cooperate with Congressional investigations or the media, and it has been suggested that the CIAs role in Benghazi may be related to the al Qaeda attack there that killed four Americans. All of these reports are unsourced, but they have been treated as credible by many. Steve reported on the story here, and I expressed skepticism as to how the recent claims fit with what we thought we knew about Benghazi here. Michael Ledeen questioned the claim that the CIA was arming Syrian rebels here.

We have a congressional source who has knowledge of the Benghazi investigation. Our source wrote to say that these reports of a CIA scandal are bogus:

The bottom line is that the CIA has been exceedingly responsive to us, we have no evidence to substantiate the claims of intimidation, and we interact with CIA personnel of all levels all the time both at official functions and informally. And we have not heard anything that would make me think any of the conspiracy rumors or intimidation rumors are true.

ALLARD: A generous second coat of the Benghazi whitewash

CNN won’t challenge the White House with tough questions

Thursday, August 8, 2013

CNN spent an hour of prime time Tuesday night to air a special anchored by Erin Burnett, “The Truth about Benghazi.” They claimed to have learned two vital lessons from their supposedly extensive investigation of that tragedy: It must never happen again, and politics trumped patriotism.

Really? That’s it? Are you kidding? The smiling, earnest naivete of Ms. Burnett suggested a graduate student who worked, you know, like really hard at the library all weekend — but apparently didn’t get within spitting distance of a reasonable conclusion.

First of all, Ms. Burnett may have noticed that her program aired just as American embassies in the Mideast were shuttered against a resurgent terrorist threat that Susan E. (Second Time’s the Charm) Rice is crisis-managing in her debut as national security adviser. Or that Vice President Joe Biden’s election-year litany — al Qaeda is dead and General Motors is alive — has been updated. Now it seems that al Qaeda is alive, and Detroit has gone belly-up. Benghazi and the Banality of Evil

By Daren Jonescu
Is it just me, or is the string of distractions that seem to pop up right on cue every time new light is about to be shed on the Benghazi story getting a little old?

Months late, CNN has gotten around to "breaking" a story that might help to complete the disturbing puzzle for the mainstream public, namely the allegation that Benghazi was the hub of a CIA weapons-running operation. Within hours, this was washed from the the allegation that Benghazi was the hub of a CIA weapons-running operation. Within hours, this was washed from the headlines by the "chatter" indicating an imminent terror plot that required the United States to close numerous diplomatic facilities. (Hurray, NSA!) And then, within days, the mainstream media was "breaking" the news that the first charges had been laid in connection with the Benghazi attack. (How convenient.)

SHOCKING VIDEO Exposes Evidence That Obama Financed Benghazi Terrorists

Posted on August 23, 2013 by Tim Brown

In the following video, the Western Center for Journalism lays out the case that Barack Hussein Obama funded the jihadist attack on the Benghazi diplomatic mission and the CIA annex. Some of this documentation we have provided previously, but this 4 minute clip brings it all together. Why are we not bringing justice upon the head of Barack Obama? He has engaged in treasonous acts against the American people by providing funds and equipment to the Continue reading →

Muslim Brotherhood: anti-American terrorism, Obama administration policy of trying to work with the MB Benghazi: “O! What a Fall was There”

By Jim ONeill (Bio and Archives) Friday, August 23, 2013

O! what a fall was there, my countrymen,

Then I, and you, and all of us fell down,

Whilst bloody treason flourish’d over us.

—William Shakespeare “Julius Caesar,” Act III, Scene II

My, my, my, oh what a tangled web we weave…. First we were treated to outright fables and fairytales about a “spontaneous demonstration” supposedly caused by a laughably awful film that few had ever heard of, and even fewer seen.

Then we had Hillary Clinton’s Sherlockian deduction that the Benghazi murders were the result of some guys out for a stroll who decided on the spur of the moment to, what the heck, “kill some Americans.” Admittedly not a dazzling hypothesis, but hey, what difference does it make?

We were also treated to Press Secretary Jay Carney’s “Not that old thing again” gambit, in which the killing of Ambassador Sevens and three other Americans last fall was treated as if it had happened back when the Black Plague was ravaging Europe. Scissors-32x32.png

White House Unserious About Getting Benghazi Suspects

Benghazi-Gate: The president is pulling out the U.S. team in Libya charged with tracking down the terrorists responsible for killing four Americans. Why not? Benghazi is just a "phony scandal."

Why would the U.S. — knowing since last November who the terrorists are that murdered Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans last Sept. 11, its own Justice Dept. having just charged them this month — not take out these jihadists before they kill more Americans?

Special operators in the region told Fox News last week that U.S. special forces personnel have spent many months "sitting in de facto standby," waiting for the order to capture or kill the suspect Benghazi terrorists, while also training Libyans to fight al-Qaida.

But the order never came, and now they're being extracted from the country permanently.

The Justice Department early this month filed sealed criminal charges against the Benghazi suspects, among them militia leader Ahmed Khattalah, who has been giving TV interviews. So he can't be that hard to find.Scissors-32x32.png

#BENGHAZI: FOIA’s Denied, Ops Team Pulled From Search

August 31, 2013 | Filed under Barack Obama,Benghazi,Hillary Clinton,Libya | Posted by LL1885

It’s just under three weeks ago I updated on the Benghazi case. In that update, we had learned that Nakoula had granted an interview to the Daily Caller, witnesses and survivors were being hidden from Congress and that 400 surface to air missiles that were diverted to Libya were stolen by some ‘very ugly people’.

In the following update, I’ll cover the mainstream media finally denouncing the blame assigned to the YouTube video, the denial of one FOIA and information obtained from another, the pulling out of the investigative team in Benghazi and new meaning assigned to Hillary’s now famous outburst – What difference, at this point, does it make? Possibly a big one if the trail being abandoned leads back to Egypt.

Nakoula Finally Recognized

Over 11 months after the attack on Benghazi and the perpetration of a massive lie by this administration in which a YouTube video was blamed for the attack, the media has finally recognized Nakoula as a scapegoat. Sort of.

On August 13th, Jake Tapper of CNN filed the story Filmmaker of movie initially blamed for Benghazi attacks: Obama administration was irresponsible.

Asked how he felt when the administration tied his film to the attack by armed militants that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, Nakoula said he was shocked.Scissors-32x32.png

Benghazi Exclusive: Navy Denies FOIA Request because it’s not “Urgent” & Asks “Whose Lives Are at Stake?”

As we near the one-year anniversary of the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty and Sean Smith my appeal to the Judge Advocate General at the Department of the Navy requesting an expedited Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) processing has been denied. Why? Because as G.E. Lattin, the Director of the General Litigation Division, determined, I didn't make a strong case when I stated, "standard processing of [my] FOIA request "denies justice and confidence of Americans and those serving in harm's way in their Government." I also wasn't specific enough when I asserted that if "the truth of Benghazi comes to light immediately then perhaps lives may be saved."

Because I cannot appeal this decision, may I state the obvious and direct your attention to the rotten fruits of the Benghazi cover-up that continue to consume casualties, which is why all Benghazi FOIA's should be expedited.

For starters, look at the plight of the people in Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East who are paying the price for the Obama administration's CIA covert gunrunning operation in Benghazi to Syria to arm "rebels" which has brought us to the brink of war with Syria today.

On September 11, 2013 it will have been one year since the tragic attack on the US Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi, Libya. The attack claimed the lives of Ambassador Chris Stephens and three other American citizens – marking the first time an Ambassador has been killed in action since the Carter Administration. It seems unbelievable that, almost 365 days later, American citizens are still waiting for information, answers, and justice. Scissors-32x32.png

US consulate attack in Benghazi: a challenge to official version of events

A year after the first US ambassador in 33 years was killed on duty, Chris Stephen, one of the first western reporters on the scene in Benghazi, pieces together what really happened from witness accounts, official reports, and the ruins of the compound

Chris Stephen in Tripoli and Benghazi

The Guardian,

Monday 9 September 2013 13.26 EDT

The attack on the US consulate in Benghazi was striking for a number of reasons: the date, 11 September, the toll – four diplomats killed, including an ambassador – and the knock-on effects on the careers of senior American politicians.

But what is perhaps most striking is the inconsistencies: the US version of events compared with those of witnesses and the facts on the ground. The two do not tally. And so, a year later, there remain pressing questions about what happened that night – and what the Americans say happened.

6:43am

Event Staff at the US special mission in Benghazi woke on 11 September to the sight of a Libyan policeman, deployed to guard them, filming the compound from a neighbouring rooftop. When challenged, he vanished. Later, an unmarked car made lazy circles around the compound, a walled redoubt rented in the southern suburbs of the Libyan city.

We Need to Be Honest;
Dispensing With the Spin

Frank Salvato
As we consider the anniversary of September 11th – now, both 2001 and 2012, it is important to consider some simple truths. These truths eluded our government and the nation in the early days after September 11th, 2001, because partisan politicians in Washington, DC, erected walls that kept our law enforcement and intelligence communities from honestly informing each other about the threats to our nation and her citizens. Even more disturbingly, today, little has changed. Twelve years after the initial attacks by al Qaeda on our country, most of the 9/11 Commission’s recommendations are left unaddressed and an administration has been elected to office that refuses to identify the enemy for their common bond. Sun Tzu wrote, in The Art of War, “If you know the enemy and know yourself, your victory will not stand in doubt.” Before September 11th, 2001, we, as a nation, were unfamiliar with not only Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda, but also the whole of the Islamist dogma. Now, after the slaughter of four brave Americans in Benghazi on September 11th, 2012, our nation’s leadership, hobbled by the Progressive tenet of political correctness, refuses to accurately identify the enemy; to identify the root cause for the overwhelming number of terrorist acts around the world. Benghazi, One Year Later

What we know about the attack in Benghazi one year after the fact is that it is an example of the Obama administration’s incompetence and mendacity. More worrisome still is what we don’t know.

We do not know how or why the State Department would send Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team to work at a facility with almost comically insufficient security, in a city that was growing more dangerous by the week — in Libya, dangerous territory for Americans at the best of times.

Shortly after the attack, Hillary Clinton called for an internal Accountability Review Board to examine the decisions surrounding security in Benghazi. The ARB report faulted four midlevel officials, conspicuously absolving of all responsibility the secretary herself and her closest advisers. Whether Secretary Clinton’s thinking on the events was unclear or mistaken at the time, we do not know, since the so-called accountability panel unaccountably did not even bother to interview her.

The four found to be at fault were placed on paid administrative leave, but Secretary of State John Kerry returned them to regular duty in August; they will not face any formal disciplinary action, which is to say they were punished with extra vacation time Scissors-32x32.png

Benghazi-Liars.jpgEveryone Please Bow Down to CBS for Telling Us What We Already Knew About Benghazi

Posted by Dean D Garrison

For as much hype as we saw leading up to the 60 Minutes Benghazi story yesterday, what did we really learn?

We already knew that Hillary lied. We already knew that Susan Rice lied. No one seems to have the guts to do anything about it. Well except for Barack Obama that is… He promoted Susan Rice and is laying the groundwork for Hillary to take over in 2016.

Let’s see… We learned about a guy who calls himself Morgan Jones. We learned that he bashed some Muzzie in the face to avoid detection. Other than that, what did we really learn? Let’s review… Scissors-32x32.png

Ooh… ooh… I got one. We learned about this group that was hired to defend the Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi and how Morgan Jones didn’t think that they would do their jobs.

Look, I mean no offense to Mr. Jones because it takes guts to come forward with what he knew and I would say the same for Gregory Hicks. But this is the biggest softball piece I have seen in a long time. There was a time when I used to like 60 Minutes.

Do you want to know why “The February 17th Martyr’s Brigade” could not be trusted to defend the compound against Al Qaeda?

Because they were Al Qaeda and our government knew it.

I am getting really sick of watching these congressional clowns and media maggots who try to make a big deal about how mistakes were made and want to draw a token vial of blood and give some sort of figurative spanking on behalf of the families of four dead Americans.

I, and many other alternative media folks, have written extensively on Benghazi. But since the initials on my press pass do not serve as an acronym for Common Bull Sh*t, no one wants to listen to me.

Benghazi is not about a failure of leadership. It is about criminal leadership and there is a big difference Scissors-32x32.png

60 Minutes On Benghazi: “Yes, They Were Left To Die and You Were Lied To”

Joshuapundit:

60 minutes pulls off a surprising and devastating act of random journalism, courtesy of ace reporter Lara Logan. CBS says they spent almost a year investigating what happened that night in Libya, and it proves beyond a doubt the Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, President Obama, Jay Carney and the rest of the White House crew outright lied, about Benghazi to the American people.

Not only that, but the report shows the White House and the State Department were fully aware that an attack was being planned (they even knew that one of the former Guantanamo inmates we kicked loose for no good reason was instrumental in planning the attacks). They did absolutely nothing.

In the case of the president and Secretary Clinton, stood by the caskets perpetuating that lie to the families of the men who were murdered by al-Qaeda thanks to their negligence, so as not to jeopardize President Obama’s re-election.

One thing the report doesn’t get into is exactly why our Ambassador was hanging out in an indefensible compound with zero security when even the Red Cross had pulled its people out. Scissors-32x32.png

Chapter 5
The Long Game:

Getting Out, Without Really Leaving

IN NOVEMBER OF 2010, THE MONTH BEFORE HE DIED, RICHARD Holbrooke put the final touches on a plan for negotiating an exit strategy for a war that had already cost nearly fifteen hundred American lives and nearly $400 billion, and that still had no end in sight.

The master diplomat’s plan drew heavily from the crowning experience of his diplomatic career: ending the war in the Balkans in 1995, when he locked the presidents of Serbia, Bosnia, and Croatia into an air base in Dayton, Ohio, and emerged with a peace accord many thought was unachievable. Those negotiations only happened after the United States and NATO bombed the parties to the negotiating table, as Holbrooke would often remind people, applying the kind of intense military pressure that made a political solution between foes the best of several bad choices. It was a grueling, brutal process. But even as Holbrooke finished his outline for a combined military and political strategy for Afghanistan, he told me in our last conversation that he had his doubts that the Obama administration had the will or the persistence to create the conditions for a Dayton-style deal in Afghanistan—or that he could get the Americans, the Afghans, and the Taliban into one room.

“This will be far, far harder than the Balkans, and anyone who thinks it won’t be isn’t paying attention,” Holbrooke told me about ten days before he died, when we ran into each other after breakfast at a hotel in Georgetown. He called for another cup of coffee and laid out a two-or-three-year vision for how he hoped to maneuver each of the parties to the negotiating table—stroking the egos of some, embarrassing others, cajoling and threatening more than a few. It was pure Holbrooke: one part hubris, one part raw determination, one part canny three-dimensional chess. But he acknowledged two big holes in the strategy. First Western Eyewitness to Benghazi:
US Knew Attack Was Inevitable

FOX News
The first Western eyewitness to the deadly Benghazi terror attacks has given an account of the seven-hour assault on the US outpost in Libya and says Americans knew such an incident was inevitable. The witness, a former British soldier who for decades helped protect US diplomats and military leaders, told CBS' 60 Minutes that Al Qaeda forces first attacked the US Special Mission Compound in which Ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed. Then they launched a second attack on a secret CIA annex about a mile across the city. "They knew what they were doing...That was a well-executed attack." The guard said he was in his apartment about 15 minutes away from the attacks when he learned of them through a frantic phone call from a Libyan guard. "I could hear gunshots," said the guard, "And he said, 'There are men coming into the mission'...You could tell he was really scared and he was running." The guard said that when he asked for details the other guard said: "We're getting attacked...They're all over the compound."Scissors-32x32.png
