A Quick List of 50 Key Counties to Watch Tonight

Jim Geraghty

November 6, 2012 6:34 A.M.

The Election Day edition of the Morning Jolt offers a list of 50 counties I’ll be watching tonight — in some cases, counties that have proven to be historical bellwethers of the national vote, and in others, counties that are useful measuring sticks for each candidate’s support. I’ve included the vote in 2008, both percentage and vote totals.

Exit polls: the asbestos-laced leaded paint chips of the political playground.

All we're doing is killing time, waiting to see who the fat lady sings to.

Assuming we'll know tonight.

Our neighbor with whom we watched Bush win and McCain lose (big surprise) is having us and another neighbor couple over. She says she is feeling like we all may be celebrating tonight. Most optimistic I have heard her in a year. She works surrounded by Obama fans and has to keep her lips sealed. 'course they don't.

L.A. Times: Hey, Did We Mention That You Romney Voters are ALL Racists

November 6, 2012 | Filed under 2012 Presidential Race,Barack Obama,corruption,Culture Of Corruption,Democrats,Elections,Hatemongers,Liberals,Media,Media Whores,Race | Posted by Warner Todd Huston

Sandy Banks of the L.A. Times has figured out why anyone would vote against Barack Obama. Why, they are all racists, of course. Oh, you don’t use “the N word,” she tells us, but we know what you Romney voters really think.

Banks dropped all pretense of logic or fairness in her November 4 piece going right for the throat and claiming that the nation’s “kumbaya era” is over merely because a white man dared run against Barack Obama for the office of President of the United States.

Like all these hate-filled screeds that cast any non-Obama voter as a racist, Banks doesn’t bother trying to actually explain how a nation that elected a black man for president could suddenly, at the drop of a hat, revert to pre-civil rights oppression, she just states it straight as if it is obvious fact.

This has been the single most disgusting attack against Romney voters and, if Obama loses his bid for reelection, be prepared to see every last left-winger on TV and in the commentariat claim that the only reason Obama lost is because the country is filled with hood-wearing, Jim-Crow-loving, racists.

Banks notes that she and her “reporter” friends hear from people “on the campaign trail” who explain to them why they are voting for Romney this time.

When those flag-waving voters are asked what they mean, their take on the president makes it clear: He’s Kenyan-born, he’s a closet Muslim, he has European-socialist tendencies. Scissors-32x32.png

Giant Obama Mural Greets Voters in Philly's Ward 35

Update: Election Judge Ordered Mural Be Covered Up

Update: Obama Poster in FLA Polling Station

Creepy, reminds me of of this

One polling site in Philadelphia apparently had a mural of President Obama emblazoned on the wall directly behind the voting machines. The mural, at a local school being used as a polling site, contained the words "change!" and "hope," along with a quote from the president.

Republicans were drawing attention to the image Tuesday morning, with one Mitt Romney spokesman tweeting: "Voters in Philly's Ward 35 are being forced to cast their ballots next to this."

Workers at a Philadelphia polling place, after being ordered by a judge to cover up a mural of President Obama "in its entirety," slapped up a few pieces of paper that only partially covered his image -- while leaving the Obama campaign logo and a quote from the current president in full view for voters.

The judge's orderexternal-link.png followed a wave of complaints from Republican officials concerned the giant image of the president could influence voters at the site, a school in Ward 35.

The mural, positioned behind the voting machines, contains the words "change!" and "hope," along with a quote from the president and painting of him. Poll workers only covered up part of the mural, though, leaving the Obama campaign logo and other parts of the image visible, as well as the Obama quote.

Poll workers claimed only the face had to be covered.

Republicans quickly drew attention to the image Tuesday morning, with one Mitt Romney spokesman tweeting: "Voters in Philly's Ward 35 are being forced to cast their ballots next to this."

"It is an absolute disgrace," said Shannon Royer, deputy secretary for external affairs and elections in Pennsylvania. "Election materials and electioneering inside the polling place are prohibited by state law. This can be interpreted as trying to influence voters inside the polling place. I am told discussions are going on now about covering the mural."

Pennsylvania election law states "no person within a polling place may electioneer or solicit votes for any political party, political body, or candidate, nor may any unauthorized written or printed materials be posted within the polling place."

Philadelphia County poll watcher Corbett Brown, 34, who originally alerted the Romney campaign to the mural, told FoxNews.com he found the 15-foot image "inappropriate."

Judge orders Republican election officials reinstated

A Pennsylvania judge also issued an order Tuesday to reinstate Republican election officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by on-site Democratic voting chief judges.

One Republican official claimed that "just under 70" Republican election officials were blocked from Philadelphia polling sites Tuesday morning by Democrats on site. One of them, the official claimed, "was shoved out of the polling place."

"For this many inspectors to be ejected from polling places is rare, even for Philadelphia," the official told FoxNews.com.
