Bill Maher Rips Obama’s Debate Performance: ‘Looked Like He Took My Million And Spent It All On Weed’

During his opening monologue tonight, Bill Maher admitted he was not happy with how President Obama did during his first big debate this week. He told his audience that Obama undeniably “sucked” during the debate, and surmised that the million dollars he gave to the campaign was probably spent on weed.

Maher surmised that because Wednesday was Obama’s anniversary, “he apparently had the sex first and was completely spent” for the debate. He contrasted Romney looking “charged up” with Obama looking like Michael Jackson on diprivan. Maher admitted that Obama “sucked” during the debate, and made a joke referencing the money he gave to the pro-Obama Super PAC

“He looked tired. He had trouble getting his answers out. It looked like he took my million and spent it all on weed.”

Maher also observed that “Obama looked so dead, Romney tried to baptize him.”

Romney Gets Emotional In Florida

Zeke Miller BuzzFeed Staff

Recounts helping a dying boy from his Mormon congregation write up a “will,” and quotes Friday Night Lights to describe him. “Clear eyes, full heart, can't lose,” says Romney.

Posted Oct 5, 2012 9:03pm EDT

ST. PETERSBURG — Mitt Romney took an emotional turn Friday night at a twilight rally on the shore of Tampa Bay.

Hours after delivering an economy-centric speech in "coal country" in rural Virginia, Romney told stories of three people who died, drawing lessons from their lives to testify to the greatness of America.

It was a striking and emotional moment for the candidate, whose public persona has generally been defined as somewhere between wooden and robotic.

For the first time in public since announcing his bid for the White House, Romney told the story himself of a 14-year-old dying boy, David Oparowski, who asked for the help of "Brother Romney" in drawing up a will. The boy's mother, Pat Oparowski, a member of Romney's Mormon ward, told the story of Romney assisting her son settle his affairs at the GOP convention in a story that left much of the hall in tears. Dozens could be spotted wiping their eyes as Romney retold the story himself.

President Obama, I totally agree with you

By: ohiohistorian (Diary) | October 6th, 2012 at 02:59 PM | 1

On Sixty Minutes last Sunday (9/30/2012) you indicated that some of the campaign ads go too far. President Obama also said that Mr. Romney won the debate because of the number and scope of his lies with which ABC News does not seem to agree. I can agree with you on this Mr. Obama; there were lies told at the debate. However, if I had to give Pinocchio awards for the campaign season, far more of them deal with your lies than those of Mr. Romney.

Cases in point:

  • You told us today that the jobs news is great. We added the same number of jobs last month as we AVERAGED in 1962 (JFK was President, and the economy wasn’t doing well then. With about 30% larger population, your numbers are horrible, and you look like a liar as you and your water-boys at the media try to make it look like the job market is doing great. Even the Dow Jones is getting tired of the jobs lies and only went up 34 points yesterday on this “great news”.
  • In the attack on the consulate in Libya, your Ambassador Scissors-32x32.png

2012 Election Pool Is Now Open!

—By Kevin Drum

| Sat Oct. 6, 2012 10:10 AM PDT

There's exactly one month left until the November election, and that means it's time for predictions. As usual in a presidential cycle, there are three categories this year:

  • Winner and total electoral votes for president.
  • Composition of the House. Current composition is 190 D, 240 R (5 vacancies).
  • Composition of the Senate. Current composition is 53 D/I, 47 R.

This year, instead of giving my own projections, I decided to provide an official line as forecast by Sam Wang, this blog's semi-official election forecaster (and winner of the 2008 election pool). Here it is:

One Of These Two WILL Be Elected President

romneyemptychair.jpg?w=584

Either an empty chair president who has done nothing but show contempt for America and the American people, who uses executive orders and executive branch agencies to bypass Congress and our Constitution, who has created and cheered on a global crisis that will lead to global war, who has appointed one known communist to the Supreme Court, and who ignored the American people in forcing through a major piece of domestic legislation that takes over 1/6th of our economy and destroys our health care system or Mitt Romney who, given the right (and I mean “right” in every sense of the word) support (and pressure when needed) will undo much of that horror and work to bring us back to our Constitutional principles without pitting American against American.

Our economy cannot withstand four more years of assault and “managed decline” from 0. Our military cannot withstand four more years of patrolling in war zones without bullets, having our national security secrets leaked (for political gain, no less!), and having our plans for withdrawal disclosed to the enemy. Our people cannot Scissors-32x32.png

Obama Meltdown Beginning? Plus: Romney Campaign on ‘$5 Trillion’ Lie

Posted on | October 7, 2012 |

Scissors-32x32.png

Finally, check out this campaign message sent out Saturday night by the Romney campaign:

MEMORANDUM

To: Interested Parties

From: Gail Gitcho, Communications Director

Date: October 6, 2012

Re: President Obama’s $5 Trillion Falsehood

There was wide agreement on Thursday morning that Mitt Romney won the first presidential debate of the general election. Why? Because he laid out the clear choice voters face this November between a real recovery or four more years like the last four years.

Middle-class families have been devastated in the Obama economy. Twenty-three million Americans are struggling for work. Median incomes have declined by more than $4,500 since President Obama took office. Today, nearly one in six Americans is living in poverty. That’s clearly not the real recovery our nation needs. And since President Obama has an indefensible record on the issue voters care about most – the economy – he’s been forced to resort to diversions, distractions, and outright deceptions about both his own record and Governor Romney’s proposals.

The most glaring example was his accusation that Mitt Romney is proposing a “$5 trillion tax cut.” But Jim Lehrer had barely thanked the audience for watching Wednesday’s debate before the fact checkers swooped in and declared President Obama’s claim to be false. Republicans, Romney ride debate wave into 'Super Saturday' voter-contact effort

Republicans are taking a strong debate performance by Mitt Romney into the weekend, trying to contact 2 million voters in a get-out-the-vote effort they're calling "Super Saturday."

Among the highlights of the all-day effort was Romney's wife, Ann, making a surprise visit to a call center in Orlando, Fla., where she posed for pictures, signed campaigned posters and made calls to prospective voters.

"We appreciate all the work you're doing, all the help you're giving us," said Romney, who brought pizzas for the volunteers making calls. "Are you getting a lot of feedback about the debate on the calls?"

This is one of just several Romney/RNC Victory Super Saturdays this election cycle in which volunteers make calls and campaign on the streets Scissors-32x32.png

Catholic activists unleash attack on Obama

October 5, 2012 | 9:06 am

Conservative Catholic activists, facing polls that show President Obama gaining among the famously politically split church community, are striking back at the White House with more than 1 million voter guides that fail the president on seven key religious liberty issues.

Angered by Obama's demand that religious facilities provide health insurance that includes abortion services despite their pro-life principles, the new voter guide grades the president with an "F," and Mitt Romney with an "A."

The new Catholic Association voter guide does not include abortion, good for Romney who has shifted over time to be pro-life. The focus instead is on the group's belief that the administration is assailing the liberty and rights of the Church and religious institutions.

"Over the past four years
