I'm looking forward to the yachting competiion. Back in 2008 I caught the sailing bug after watching every competitor during one of the evnts capsize at least once. I was reinnoculated a year or so later - to make sure it stuck - when I caught the Volvo Ocean Race on rabbit ears broadcast out of Ontario. That went south pretty much concurrent with the death of my VCR & the digital TV transission. Another memorable event in 2008 was the top rank points rifle shooter lost ANY medal after shooting the wrong target in the very last shot of the medal event. Another memorable event in 2008 was the shotgun event in pouring rain. I appreciate the archery event too. The weight lifing is pretty cool. Oooh! Oooh! righteousmomma Posted July 28, 2012 Share Posted July 28, 2012 Good idea to have an Olympics thread. We are at son's house and so all of us watched the opening. Until over half way through with sound off. Switched to American Pickers by the G Countries and by the U Countries we had all gone to bed. However daughter and family in Illinois had a fun time to the end. It was certainly a salute to the British music eras and quirky comedic humor. Read on Drudge that many thought it reflected director Boyle's left wing leanings.
