The recent winner of the "Win Dinner with Barack Obama" contest, which the Obama campaign has been running for the past year or so, was an actual Obama staffer. From Politico:

One of President Obama's own campaign staffers was chosen for the popular win-a-dinner contest with the president.

Toby Fallsgraff, apparently a member of the campaign's technical team, a wrote in a fundraising pitch that his name was drawn for the contest while he was testing the campaign's computer systems.

(Snip)

Which suggests the following: the only people who are entering these contests already work for Barack Obama. In November, he's clearly going to sweep that particular segment of the population.

The other segments are up for grabs.

1st Prize... Having dinner with Barack Obama

2nd Prize.. Having two dinners with Barack Obama

3rd Prize... Having three dinners with Barack Obama

You get my drift... my Little Chickadees?

LA Times Styles Romney the Whites Only Candidate

June 26, 2012 | Filed under 2012 Presidential Race,corruption,Culture Of Corruption,Democrats,Elections,Liberals,Media,Race,Republicans | Posted by Warner Todd Huston

On June 18 the L.A. Times turned in a sly performance attempting to paint Mitt Romney as the whites only candidate in a piece headlined, “Romney, Cows and Ice Cream: Targeting Conservative, White ‘Backbone’.”

Romney is calling his current Midwest campaign stint a tour of the “backbone of America,” but it seems the Times is purposefully misconstruing that ages old saying about the Midwest, making it into a racial epithet, instead of the laudatory name it usually is, by styling it the “white backbone” of America.

The Times quickly goes on to quote partisan liberal author Ruy Teixeira, who also a senior fellow at the liberal Center for American Progress, who says that Romney is probably wasting his time on the tour because minority voters in some of the swing state he’s visiting are lost to him regardless.

Over the last 20 years, the percentage of white working-class voters in both states has dropped, while the share of minorities and white college graduates has risen, a trend apt to benefit Democrats over time, said Ruy Teixeira, a senior fellow at the liberal Center for American Progress.

Teixeira should have lost all credibility back in 2002 when he famously published a book titled, “The Emerging Democratic Majority.” In 2002 Teixeira claimed that the Republican Party was finished and the Democrats were sure to be winners for decades to come, yet Democrats have only controlled both the White House and Congress for two of the last 18 years. Further damaging his analysis, Democrats lost control of the House in 2010 in the biggest loss of seats suffered by any party in decades.

Now, certainly Teixeira’s claim about Latino voters in swing states is the conventional wisdom, one made by Old Media outlets across the board. But Real Clear Politics’ Sean Trende says not so fast to that conceit.

In a recent piece analyzing Obama’s immigration decision, Trende notes that claims that Latinos are a critical voting bloc might be somewhat exaggerated.

And just in case I'm gone tomorrow

One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore".

No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute."

Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I love you."

So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick.

This is true for marriage.....And old cars... And children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce.

There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.

Life is important, like people we know who are special.. And so, we keep them close!

Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know you love them?

Important thing is to let every one of your friends know you love them, even if you think they don't love you back.

And just in case I'm gone tomorrow.........................................

Please vote against Obama. cool.png

National Right to Life: Supreme Court Decision Means Americans Must Elect Mitt Romney and a Pro-Life Congress Committed to Repealing ObamaCare

WASHINGTON – “All voters who care about the value and dignity of human life must do everything they can to elect Mitt Romney and a Congress who are committed to repeal of ObamaCare,” said National Right to Life President Carol Tobias. “If President Obama wins re-election, it will mean massive abortion subsidies and it will put the lives of millions at risk through systematic government-imposed rationing of lifesaving medical care.”

Today’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling upholding most of the ObamaCare law is a call-to-action for the right-to-life electorate to work to elect a Congress and president this November committed to repealing ObamaCare in 2013, in order to prevent a future in which abortion insurance will be heavily subsidized by federal taxpayers and federal bureaucrats will be authorized to ration life-saving medical treatment.

That is the assessment of the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of state right-to-life organizations, after analysis of today’s ruling in National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius.

Under the enacted law, federal tax-based subsidies will begin in 2014 to subsidize millions of private insurance plans that will cover abortion-on-demand, including some plans (“multi-state plans”) that will be administered by the federal government. Under another provision of the law, the federal government could even order many plans that do not receive federal subsidies to cover abortion as a “preventive” service. The law also created an array of other mechanisms and funding pipelines by which access to and subsidies for abortion can be expanded if President Obama wins a second term.

Moreover, few Americans realize that under ObamaCare, private citizens’ right to spend their own money to save the lives of their own families will be subject to drastic restriction.

Unless repealed, ObamaCare will give federal bureaucrats the power to impose so-called “quality” measures on all health care providers, under which treatment that a doctor and patient deem needed to save that patient’s life or preserve the patient’s health but which runs afoul of the imposed standards will be denied, even if the patient is willing and able to pay for it. In 2015 and thereafter, an 18-member “Independent Payment Advisory Board” is directed to inform the federal Department of Health and Human Services how to use those imposed standards to limit what private citizens are permitted to spend on their own families’ health care to below the rate of medical inflation.

These and other provisions of the law that will authorize rationing are documented at

http://www.nrlc.org/ HealthCareRationing/index.html .

National Right to Life strongly opposed enactment of the ObamaCare law because of its abortion and rationing components.

Friday: Obama takes off from torched Colorado Springs and immediately burns AF1’s dedicated phone line with fundraising plea: “They’re gonna run Congress and the White House”

Obama-AF1-phone.jpg

Federal disaster.

(The Daily Beast) — “The majority on this call maxed out to my campaign last time. I really need you to do the same this time,” the president said in a highly unusual (and presumably legal) fundraising pitch from Air Force One on his way back to Washington from Colorado Springs, where he’d been assessing the terrible damage caused by uncontained wildfires. A special phone on the government aircraft is dedicated to political calls that are paid for by the campaign.

“I’m asking you to meet or exceed what you did in 2008,” the presidential pitchman continued, speaking to donors who were invited to dial in based on their contributions during the last election. “Because we’re going to have to deal with these super PACs in a serious way. And if we don’t, frankly I think the political [scene] is going to be changed permanently. Because the special interests that are financing my opponent’s campaign are just going to consolidate themselves. They’re gonna run Congress and the White House.”

The president’s 18-minute pleading — a recording of which was provided to The Daily Beast by an Obama contributor — hardly sounded like a man doing a victory lap after Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling upholding Obamacare, as the Affordable Care Act has come to be known. Or, for that matter, like a candidate who has been beating his Republican opponent in recent polls of key battleground states.

Rather, Obama sounded like a dog-tired idealist forced to grapple painfully with hard reality. “In 2008 everything was new and exciting about our campaign,” Obama said. “And now I’m the incumbent president. I’ve got gray hair. People have seen disappointment because Scissors-32x32.png Read More

More Than 115 Reasons

to Elect a New President

Worthy of a Great Nation:

Not the Abomination of an Obama Nation

(Based on an Idea and Initiative, and Built off a List, Launched by

KRLA Radio Talk Show Host and Constitutional Law Professor Hugh Hewitt)

1. ObamaCare -- Attempting to override state rights, while extending federal control over massive components of the national economy, in violation of the Constitution's Commerce Clause and theTenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Cynically lining up supporters inwhite doctors' lab coats, while refusing to consult with much more prominent and predominant medical authorities who oppose. Lying about theprogram's cost and tax burden by concealing within it with exorbitant taxes that begin several years into its anticipated roll-out. Robbing $500 billion from Medicare that will destroy access for seniors, while lying about the Ryan proposal that would not affect people over 55.

2. The Wasted

-Gone-Wild. $700,000 to develop a robot that tells jokes. $3.4 million for an underground tunnel for turtles to cross the road in Florida. $1 million to help smokers kick the habit by giving them Blackberry "smartphones." $2.6 million for prostitutes in China to drink responsibly. Lying to Americans by claiming the money was going to "shovel-ready jobs" -- and then joking about the falsehood. Lying by hiding the amounts transferred to favored liberal projects unrelated to job growth or economic stimulation.

3. Chronically high, persistent unemployment -- Christina Romer, chair of Obama's Council of Economic Advisors, reported (see Report, Figure 1 at page 4) that he would bring unemployment under 8% ; yet it remains over 8% thirty months into

, and his Administration publishesdishonest figures masking that real unemployment and severe underemployment actually exceed 18%, as huge numbers of unemployed Americans withdraw from searching hopelessly for jobs or Scissors-32x32.png Read More www.ravfischer.com

ObamaCare Hurts Small Businesses, Must Be Ripped Out By Its Roots

Posted by Speaker Boehner's Press Office | July 1, 2012 | Watch It Here

With millions of Americans out of work and wages stagnant, Speaker John Boehner says the Supreme Court ruling has strengthened the resolve of the American people to fully repeal the president’s health care law (and its massive tax hike) which is driving up costs and making it harder for small businesses to hire:

MORE FROM THE SPEAKER'S BLOG:

  • #FULLREPEAL: Speaker Boehner told CBS News Face the Nation that the president’s health care law is hurting our economy and must be “ripped out by its roots.”

  • STEP-BY-STEP: After fully repealing ObamaCare, Boehner says Republicans will take a “common-sense, step-by-step approach” that “will protect Americans’ access to the care they need, from the doctor they choose, at a lower cost.”

  • 10 REASONS TO REPEAL: Small businesses are “afraid to hire new employees” under ObamaCare -- and nine other reasons we need full repeal.

  • #STOPTHETAXHIKE #4JOBS: The House will vote this month on a bipartisan plan to stop President Obama’s massive tax hike, which takes effect in 183 days.

  • KEYSTONE XL: While the House and Senate agreed on a bill to reform America’s infrastructure programs and stop student loan rates from doubling, Democratic leaders continue to block Keystone XL and the thousands of jobs it would create.

  • FAST & FURIOUS: A bipartisan majority of the House voted to hold the Attorney General in contempt for not fully cooperating with the investigation into ‘Fast & Furious’ and the death of border agent Brian Terry. Learn more here and here.

Manchin, other top W.V. Dems, plan to skip Democratic convention

By

Stephanie Condon

Campaign 2012

(CBS News) Three Democrats from West Virginia, including first-term Sen. Joe Manchin, are skipping the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. this September, where President Obama will formally receive the party's presidential nomination.

The West Virginia Democratic Party told reporters Monday that in addition to Manchin, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and Rep. Nick Rahall do not plan to join West Virginia's delegation. State Party Chair Larry Puccio said Sen. Jay Rockefeller will attend and will serve as the group's honorary chair.

Mr. Obama is unpopular in the state and lost 41 percent of the West Virginia primary vote to a convicted felon. Manchin -- who faces his own re-election battle this year -- has said he's not sure he'll vote for Mr. Obama.

In a statement explaining his decision to skip the convention Manchin said, "I intend snip Read More

Another N.C. Democrat Refuses To Endorse Obama…

Another North Carolina Democrat is refusing to support President Obama’s reelection effort. This time it’s Rep. Larry Kissell.

“[H]e doesn’t plan to endorse Obama for re-election and isn’t sure he’ll attend his party’s national convention in Charlotte,” McClatchy reports. “Kissell represents the 8th District, which runs from Mecklenburg County to Robeson County. Last year’s redistricting added heavily Republican areas of Rowan, Davidson and Randolph counties while removing thousands of Democratic voters in Charlotte and Fayetteville.”

Matt Connelly, a regional spokesman for the Republican National Committee, remarks on Twitter: “Rep. Kissell’s (D-NC) district ends 9 blocks away from Bank of America Stadium, but he isn’t sure if he’ll attend the DNC.” Scissors-32x32.png Read More http://weaselzippers.us/2012/07/03/another-n-c-democrat-refuses-to-endorse-obama/

On this Independence Day, it is time to focus on improving the crop of Republican congressmen by examining some of the remaining Republican primaries.

Want the GOP to stand up to Barack Obama?

Tired of the GOP cutting deals?

Want to make sure the GOP doesn’t back out of full and complete repeal of Obamacare if they sweep in November?

Then you absolutely must support these candidates still in Republican primaries.

If you care about freedom, here is Freedom’s Slate.

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney celebrated the Fourth of July with a new video Wednesday promising that "America's greatest days are yet ahead."

"There was a time – not so long ago – when each of us could walk a little taller and stand a little straighter because we had a gift that no one else in the world shared," Romney says in the video. "We were Americans. We knew it without question. And so did the world. Those days are coming back. In Ohio President Distorts Truth Behind His First Election

by John Nolte6 Jul 2012, 2:30 PM PDT

What campaign was President "Composite" Obama talking about today in Ohio? He makes it sound as though he was Jimmy Stewart or something -- struggling with no money to win one for the little people. You know, a regular Mr. Smith Goes to the State House with only friends and family at his side.

Listen to this nonsense:

Despite the cynicism and the negativism, you know, what I think about is my first race. When I was first running for state senate, I couldn't afford television commercials. And Michelle and I we used to go door to door - pass out fliers that we had printed out at Kinko's. And we and our friends and family members, we'd march in 4th of July parades and it is was hard work.

Oh, so now Obama is opposed to cynicism and negativism. Because back in 1996 when he was running for this seat he used all kinds of cynicism and negativism to community organize his Democratic opponents right off the ticket.

In his first race for office, seeking a state Senate seat on Chicago's gritty South Side in 1996, Obama effectively used election rules to eliminate his Scissors-32x32.png Read More http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/07/06/Obama-Distorts-First-Election-Story
