Rheo
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.Where there is hatred, let me sow love, Where there is injury, pardonWhere there is doubt, faith, Where there is despair, hope,Where there is darkness, light, Where there is sadness, joy.O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, not so much to be understood as to understand, not so much to be loved, as to love;for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in dying that we awake to eternal life.~St. Francis of Assisi~
Rheo
Heavenly father, please sustain my spirit as I search for new and meaningful work. You have blessed me with a healthy body and a keen mind for which I am grateful. I ask that you open my path as I seek employment that will allow me to support my family and myself while serving others and your divine purpose. In gratitude and grace, Amen. - Rev. Rheo
Dear God, source of Love and Life who brings abundance to all, Please bring prosperity to me and my family now. We ask that these basic needs be filled: Money to pay our bills, Income to meet our mortgage (rent), Enough to feed us healthy food, And more than enough for health care and wellness. Beyond the material needs, please uplift our souls. Inspire our creativity and resourcefulness. Guide us in improving our lives. Please help us to hold on to faith And let us find peace. Amen. - Rev. Geee
Rheo, the St. Francis of Assisi poem is very appropriate for some of the hate in peoples hearts the last few days. So much for the spirit of Christmas and peace and good will to all-sigh.

Geee
With Our Captain God O God that art the only hope of the world,The only refuge for unhappy men,Abiding in the faithfulness of heaven,Give me strong succour in this testing place.O King, protect thy man from utter ruinLest the weak faith surrender to the tyrant,Facing innumerable blows alone.Remember as I am dust, and wind, and shadow,And life as fleeting as the flower of grass. But may the eternal mercy which hath shoneFrom time of oldRescue thy servant from the jaws of the lion.Thou who didst come from on high in the cloak of flesh,Strike down the dragon with that two-edged sword,Whereby our mortal flesh can war with the windsAnd beat down strongholds, with our Captain God. - Bede
Geee
Prayer for Spring Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;And give us not to think so far awayAs the uncertain harvest; keep us hereAll simply in the springing of the year.Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night; And make us happy in the happy bees,The swarm dilating round the perfect trees. And make us happy in the darting birdThat suddenly above the bees is heard,The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,And off a blossom in midair stands still. For this is love and nothing else is love,The which it is reserved for God aboveTo sanctify to what far ends He will,But which it only needs that we fulfill. - Robert Frost
Geee
The Blessing of Unanswered Prayers I asked for strength that I might achieve;I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.I asked for health that I might do greater things;I was given infirmity that I might do better things.I asked for riches that I might be happy;I was given poverty that I might be wise.I asked for power that I might have the praise of men;I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.I asked for all things that I might enjoy life;I was given life that I might enjoy all things.I got nothing that I had asked for,but eveything that I had hoped for.Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered;I am, among all men, most richly blessed. - Unknown Confederate soldier
Rheo
This Week's Prayer Requests From Lorie: Heather (one of our mentors) still in the hospital, out of ICU, but will need another surgery on her lungs due to bleeding- which means another week in the hospital. N (C &Z ’s Grandfather) called this morning very upset. I have never heard him this upset before. He was silent and at the end I think he was in tears. He informed me that the kids have now moved back in with their mom. She apparently received a $7000 tax refund and used most of it to bail out a man (not their dad) who was involved in the drug bust. This is not a good situation for them. C and Z can only see the freedom they get from being with her. I know they love her, but satan has blinded them so they cannot see. Their dad is apparently still doing good , but not sure if he is able to take to take them on financially yet. Please pray for C , Z , their mom and dad, and grandparents(N and T ). T- to get closer to my heavenly father and for grace, strength and protection, I’m going through a lot and having some trouble with some barriers. G- I am losing my focus- I feel numb, I've hit a point where I have no feelings, no anger no nothing, pray that God will help me From Katrina: T - depression M - pray that the rest of my time here would be good, please and thank you L- my family, my mom and myself L - my family, myself, boyfriend, Alexis who is about to have a baby From Gary: X- prays that God will take care of his family and watch over his needs C-that God will minimize the legal consequences of my wrong actions Z-that something good will come out of his moms boyfriends' trial on May 1. That he will get released from state detention as soon as possible (he has earned the privilege to be released in the coming months by his good behavior) Z - we've been prayer for his various needs over the last month. On three occasions Z has said with excitement in his voice "God answered what we prayed for." Praise God!!! He is an awesome prayer-hearing God!! From Jordan: P - for his brother to stop his drug use, and for P to serve his 2yrs peacefully and successfully J - for his court dates and for the Lord's will to be done M - that he and his mom have a fruitful relationship "Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up." ~ Luke 18:1 * We are so thankful and genuinely appreciate your support of these prayers *
Geee
Weathering the Storm Father God, Today I am afraid. I look around me at this world that is changing so fast and I feel lost like a small boat in the midst of a storm. I am not built to weather the battering waves or the howling wind. So I wait now in your presence. You spoke the oceans and the four winds into being. You threw the stars in the sky and separated the sea from dry land. You took the hand of Peter who was sinking into the depths of the water and walked him to safety. I choose now to fix my eyes on you and not on the storm. I settle my heart on your love and not on the current that threatens to pull me under. Thank you that you are my firm anchor even through the darkest night, Amen

Geee
Today is National Prayer Day: Billy Graham's Prayer for the Nation Our Father and Our God, we praise You for Your goodness to our nation, giving us blessings far beyond what we deserve. Yet we know all is not right with America. We deeply need a moral and spiritual renewal to help us meet the many problems we face. Convict us of sin. Help us to turn to You in repentance and faith. Set our feet on the path of Your righteousness and peace. We pray today for our nation's leaders. Give them the wisdom to know what is right, and the courage to do it. You have said, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." May this be a new era for America, as we humble ourselves and acknowledge You alone as our Savior and Lord. This we pray in Your holy name, Amen. --- Billy Graham
