President Obama shelves all offshore drilling projects for six months

President Obama shelved all new offshore drilling projects for at least six months today and made a personal appeal for America to switch to clean energy sources to stop “fouling the Earth”.

Giving a press conference on the day that BP’s “top kill” strategy to cap the Deepwater Horizon oil well spillage appeared to be working, Mr Obama attacked the “scandalously close relationship” between oil companies and government regulators, cancelled new drilling leases off Virginia and Florida that he announced only two months ago, and insisted that BP would “pay every dime for the damage they have done”.

The President has struggled to shake off accusations that the spill has become his equivalent of Hurricane Katrina. In his first press conference in ten months, he said he would leave it to the media “to make those comparisons, to make those judgments, because what I’m spending my time on is how do we solve this problem”.

Meanwhile, Obama promises to focus on creating jobs with a laser light intensity.
Meanwhile, Obama promises to focus on stopping the hole.
Meanwhile, Obama promises to come straight on Sestak with an official statement.
"Mr Obama attacked the “scandalously close relationship” "It happened on Bush's watch. Ain't my folks."

This is from a man who is fixing to go on vacation. The trip requires three passenger jet aircraft (including AF1), a minimum of one cargo aircraft, a fighter aircraft escort and a fleet of gas guzzling SUVs. I guess he never heard of leading by example.

The truth of the matter is that there is currently no alternative energy source that is cost efficient, except for natural gas, and it will fall under the same drilling ban. Wind, solar, ethonal, even nuclear power all cost more to produce than they generate.

I hope everyone is ready to hitch the horse to the buggy, because that's where we're heading under this bozo.

Lord knows the least the man could do is turn down the heat and put on a sweater. ;)
