National Tequila Day is a perfect time to hone your skills at crafting cocktails with Texas' distilled darlin'. Try these recipes from some of the Lone Star state's own tequila makers. Mexican Mule Courtesy of Pura Vida Tequila 2 oz Pura Vida Reposado Tequila 1 oz fresh lime Juice 4 oz ginger beer Pour ingredients into a copper mug filled with ice. Stir to combine and chill. Garnish with a lime wheel. 512 Paloma Courtesy of Tequila 512 2 oz. Tequila 512 Reposado .5 oz fresh lime juice Pinch of good salt (i.e. Himalayan pink sea salt) Fill glass w/ Grapefruit Soda (Tequila 512 recommends Jarritos) Add Tequila 512, lime juice and salt into a highball glass. Fill with ice. Top off with grapefruit soda and give the drink a quick stir. Garnish with a lime wedge. Pro tip: Add 0.5 oz. of Liber & Co. Fiery Ginger Syrup to kick up the spice in your Paloma. The Perfect Paloma Contributed by Dulce Vida Spirits 1.5 oz. Dulce Vida Grapefruit 2 oz. Topo Chico Mineral Water or Sparkling Water 2 oz. Fresca or Sprite 2 Limes for lime juice Lime, garnish Pour Dulce Vida Grapefruit, Topo Choco, Fresca and lime juice into glass. Stir to mix well.
