A police operation in north London during which a woman was shot, foiled an active terror plot, Scotland Yard has said.

Armed officers raided a property in the Willesden area shortly after 7pm on Thursday evening and a woman in her 20s was shot by police

Six people were arrested during the operation and police said the woman remained in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The operation took place just a few hours after a man was arrested in Westminster on suspicion of terrorism offences after being stopped close to Downing Street carrying a rucksack packed with knives.

But Scotland Yard said the two matters were unrelated.

"But Scotland Yard said the two matters were unrelated."

So two terrorist incidents or a chef on his way to work with his knives...

London Terror Suspect Was a Member of 2010 Gaza Flotilla

Jack Heretik

April 28, 2017

Khalid Omar Ali, a suspect from Thursday's planned knife attack near Prime Minister Theresa May's office, has been revealed to have been a member of a 2010 Gaza flotilla.

Ali was on the Mavi Marmara, which was intercepted by Israeli authorities in 2010 during an attempt to get past the Israeli blockade, Reuters reports. During the incident, nine Turkish activists were killed.

The flotilla, part of a group called Road to Hope, left Egypt attempting to bring what they called aid to Gaza. The Israeli government has a mandate that any aid going to Gaza must go through non-Gaza ports in Israel so that it may be searched in order to keep weapons from getting into the territory.
