Valin
The Week in Pictures: Narrative Riot Edition Steven Hayward September 24, 2016 The comically named (but humor-challenged) White House spokesperson Josh Earnest beclowned himself a few days ago with the remark that we’re in a “war of narratives” with ISIS. Actually, he may be on to something. We may well be able to defeat ISIS by unleashing English lit majors on them. One whiff of postmodern narrative jargon from a poet laureate of Bennington College might well reduce the most hardened jihadist to madness, or make 8th century cave-dwelling look pretty good after all. Meanwhile, the real narrative war is happening on the streets of Charlotte. Facts? Who needs facts? The Narrative is the important thing. Oh yeah, Hillary is still on the ballot. Somehow. (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) Yup, this is pretty much how antitrust works. (Snip) And Finally....

SrWoodchuck
Leaked FBI Data Reveal 7,700 Terrorist Encounters in USA in One Year; Border States Most Targeted http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2016/09/26/leaked-fbi-data-reveal-7700-terrorist-encounters-usa-one-year-border-states-targeted/ Leaked documents with sensitive FBI data exclusively obtained by Breitbart Texas reveal that 7,712 terrorist encounters occurred within the United States in one year and that many of those encounters occurred near the U.S.-Mexico border. The incidents are characterized as “Known or Suspected Terrorist Encounters.” Some of the encounters occurred near the U.S.-Mexico border at ports-of-entry and some occurred in between, indicating that persons known or reasonably suspected of being terrorists attempted to sneak into the U.S. across the border. In all, the encounters occurred in higher numbers in border states. Some of the documents pertain to the entire U.S., while others focus specifically on the state of Arizona. The documents are labeled, “UNCLASSIFIED/LAW ENFORCEMENT SENSITIVE” and contain data from the FBI-administered Terrorist Screening Center, the organization maintaining the Terrorist Screening Database, also known as the “Terror Watch List.” Page Six shows a pie chart indicating that the majority of encounters in Arizona were with Islamic known or suspected terrorists, both Sunni and Shi’a. Eighty-nine encounters were Sunni, 56 were Shi’a, 70 were “Other International Terrorist Groups or Affiliates,” and only 52 were with “Domestic Terrorism.”

Valin
The Week in Pictures: Creepy Clown Edition Steven Hayward October 8, 2016 A few years ago the great public panic was . . . shark attacks. Then we had Sharknado 1, 2, & 3, and the fear went away. Suddenly the national panic is over . . . creepy clowns. (I received a robocall last night from the local school district informing that the creepy clown scare is nothing to worry about. It’s come to that.) Oh, wait—it’s just the presidential candidates. Or at least the Democrats’ vice presidential candidate. Anyway, stay tuned for a special announcement near the end about a new photo feature. (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) This is why laws against panic buying and hoarding during hurricanes are necessary. (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) (Snip) So, for the longest time many of our female readers have been asking for photos of hunks with guns. I’ve tried a few times, but 1) such pictures are relatively more scarce, and 2) often they turn out to be gay icons. I’ve come up with an idea. Henceforth, before our Empowered Feminist of the Week photo, I’ll throw in a pic of either Mike Rowe (because everybody loves Mike Rowe!), or Charlton Heston (because Charlton Heston, man!—and there are a fair number of photos of Chuck with a gun). Got to have a drink with Heston in a bar in Beverly Hills once. I’ll tell that story some other time. But for now, a preview of the future: And Finally...
pollyannaish
I can't. I can't vote for someone who is just like the other side just because he is on our side. It makes no sense. The man is Bill Clinton's moral Clone. Someone said, if you excuse his behavior just to win you ARE Hillary. If I believed that the country would be better in some way with Trump, I'd vote for him. But I would be sacrificing my country and my children's future for the immediate joy of watching the MSM explode. For the first time in 33 years, I will not vote for President. I may toss in an Evan McMullen but that's just a throw away vote. In this election, we will all loose no matter what. I am despondent about the whole thing. May God have mercy on our souls.

SrWoodchuck
ALGOREMANBEARPIG NEWS The Chakra Has Been Released: Al Gore To Appear In Hurricane-Battered Florida To Rally Millennials For Hillary… http://www.weaselzippers.us/300227-the-chakra-has-been-released-al-gore-to-appear-in-hurricane-battered-florida-to-rally-millennials-for-hillary/ Can former vice president Al Gore, who hasn’t been on the ballot in a decade and a half, persuade young voters to back Hillary Clinton by appearing in hurricane-battered South Florida? He and the Democratic presidential nominee will start testing this proposition on Tuesday, when the two appear together in Miami. The location has plenty of symbolic importance — the area has not only just been battered by Hurricane Matthew, it is also a part of the country most vulnerable to sea-level rise and the state where Green Party candidate Ralph Nader helped derail Gore’s 2000 presidential candidacy. The appearance is timed to coincide with the state’s voter registration deadline, and the Clinton campaign announced Sunday that the two politicians would urge Florida voters “to check their registration status and to get registered by October 11 to make their voices heard this election.” Gore’s pitch: People concerned about climate change, especially young voters, should ignore the siren song of third-party candidates and opt for Clinton. Millennials are a key target demographic for Clinton, because they consider tackling global warming a higher priority than older voters but have yet to fully embrace her. “At the event, Gore will discuss the urgent threat posed by climate change and lay out the high stakes of November’s election,” the Clinton campaign said in a statement. Well, of course you have to vote or not your conscience but since this is a conservative/GOP leaning forum I like what Tammy Bruce said today: “Here’s what’s important about last night. Even though the content was good and he got to the issues – People saw Armageddon for the last 48 hours. And they were wondering: Would he at least survive? He not only survived. He prevailed. This is a test of leadership. This is what the Clinton campaign gave him, effectively – was showing the American people that he can be under massive attack from all sides, be able to deal with it, adapt, change, and then be steady, be focused on the issues. And that’s a test of leadership that you can’t speak about or tell people about. You have to show it. And he showed it last night. That’s the thing that resonates with everyone. Women. Independents. Undecideds. It’s leadership at a time of crisis.“ I know of no one else who would have been able to survive the Clinton machine and the Democrat biased msm/press. I am not voting for a pastor nor a pope but for a leader who can make choices and appoint people in order to reverse the leftward direction of this Country into humanism and secularism. For me personally not voting is not an option.
