Climate Alarmists Riot In Paris, Yet Skeptics Are The 'Crazies'

Even before the Paris climate summit began, the bad behavior got started. On Sunday, left-wing demonstrators clashed with police as "hundreds of thousands of people rallied" to build "grass-roots pressure for an historic deal at the U.N. talks to limit global warming." The media calls these people protesters. Some were. But more than a few were authentic rioters.

 

Of course it's those who express skepticism over the notion that man-made global warming is hurting the planet that are the crazies. We're called "deniers" and "troglodytes." The ever-thoughtful mayor of New York has suggested we are insane.

 

But none of us has taken to the streets to brawl over our beliefs (and doubts). That's the dominion of the choleric rioters who engaged in "violent clashes" with police. They scuffled with security details and threw bottles and candles at them. The police responded with tear gas. More than 200 were arrested, some under anti-terrorism laws. They sound like reasonable people, don't they?

 

French President Francois Hollande said "these disruptive elements have nothing to do with defenders of the environment," and frankly, we agree, because the the "defenders of the environment" have nothing to do with defending the environment, just as the United Nations climate talks never have anything to do with fixing the climate. As we have shown time and again, the global warming scare is based not on appropriate stewardship of the earth but on a campaign to wreck capitalism and replace it with an economic system that isn't based on markets but on central planning.
