The Week in Pictures: Chaos Theory Edition

Steven Hayward

October 10, 2015

House Republicans are supposedly in chaos. Yet somehow the earth keeps spinning on its axis, and yesterday the House actually passed legislation to allow sale of American oil overseas. What’s really in chaos is Obama’s foreign policy. And maybe the Democratic Party’s presidential field. Let’s see what the debate on Tuesday brings. A strong performance by Bernie Sanders might throw Hillary into a fatal tailspin. And/or she’ll get nasty with Bernie in unattractive ways. Meanwhile the rest of the country will be saying, “Who’s this Jim Webb guy? Why is he here?”

HHS: We’ve Conducted ZERO Oversight of Planned Parenthood Since 2007

http://iotwreport.com/hhs-weve-conducted-zero-oversight-of-planned-parenthood-since-2007/

planned.jpg

The Stream has uncovered alarming information about Planned Parenthood after submitting a Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) request to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The request was spurred by a series of undercover videos suggesting that Planned Parenthood may be involved in illegal activity in the aborted fetal body parts aftermarket.

Under the NIH Revitalization Act of 1993, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) should be performing audits on Planned Parenthood, since Planned Parenthood is involved in research on aborted fetuses and HHS is supporting its work with funding. Specifically, according to HHS’s own documents, “Section 498A of the Public Health Service Act [42 USC 289g-1] requires the annual submission to Congress of a report describing research involving therapeutic transplantation of human fetal tissue supported or conducted by the NIH.” In the fourth undercover video released by the Center for Medical Progress, Dr. Savita Ginde, a Planned Parenthood abortion doctor in Colorado, revealed that the organization’s fetal harvesting is categorized as research, explaining, “Putting it under the research gives us a little bit of a, a little sort of an overhang over the whole thing.”

Additionally, one of the redacted emails from HHS contained a Planned Parentood consent form that women were given to sign in order to donate their aborted fetus to research.

Despite the terms of Section 498A of the Public Health Service Act, the audits are apparently not taking place.

The Stream filed its FOIA request with the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) of HHS in July, asking for documents and emails related to Planned Parenthood and the audits. OHRP is in charge of overseeing any research done on human fetuses. HHS initially responded partially on August 24, the deadline, saying they had no documents fitting the description of the public records that The Stream had requested. HHS did say that it would provide the requested emails after redacting them (more on those below).

Ultimately, the only documents turned over were the redacted emails and several letters from HHS to Congress stating that the National Institute of Health (another part of HHS) had no required reports to give Congress about research on transplanting human fetal tissue for therapeutic purposes because NIH hadn’t been involved with any such work. The letter stated that fiscal year 2007 was the last year HHS provided funding for that type of research. After that, “The NIH did not provide any financial support for human fetal tissue transplantation research.”

If this is accurate, what about all the harvesting of fetal body parts that Planned Parenthood itself categorizes as research? HHS provides Planned Parenthood with the majority of its federal funding, and has continued to do so up to the present.

The Redacted Emails
HHS released 190 pages of emails to The Stream, but these were heavily redacted. Most of the emails appear to be internal discussions about how to respond to reporters’ questions about Planned Parenthood selling fetal tissue and responses to reporters — essentially coordinated talking points for damage control within various divisions of HHS and even within the FDA. Questions where the answers were redacted include, “Does the NIH believe doctors violated federal law by performing procedures in a way that preserved specific body parts?” and “Does the NIH believe the NIH or funded researchers violated federal law by their involvement with Planned Parenthood or StemExpress?”

In a few of the email responses that were not redacted, HHS confirmed that its NIH division is funding fetal research. Reporters had asked for confirmation of Senator Ted Cruz’s estimate that NIH funded $76 million in 2014 to study the therapeutic use of fetal tissue, and whether HHS would comply with his requests for information. A frantic stream of emails ensued within HHS, and an HHS employee responded stating that fetal stem cell research was mostly separate from embryonic stem cell research, costing $76 million versus $166 million for embryonic research.

Questions were also asked about the undercover videos and whether organizations other than Planned Parenthood harvest fetal tissue.

A handful of the reporters wrote stories about the information they got back from HHS. CNN’s Carina Storrs wrote, “One of the Health and Human Services requirements for using fetal tissue is that no other experimental settings, such as other cell types or lab mice, would be appropriate.” Is this the case, and if so, isn’t it another reason HHS should be monitoring Planned Parenthood and reporting on its activity in the fetal tissue aftermarket?

University of Toronto unexpectedly finds problems with letting boys in the girls’ showers

Like many American colleges, the University of Toronto has heard the calls for fairness across the “gender spectrum” and previously moved to a policy of having gender neutral bathrooms and shower / locker facilities on campus. Now I’m sure that most of you, just like me, think this is a brilliant plan which encourages diversity and inclusion, holding no potential hazards for the students living in our brave new world. But wonders never cease and it appears there was a fly in the ointment after all.

(Snip)

Who could possibly have imagined that a bunch of hormone driven, college age guys might react this way when presented with an opportunity to be standing around next to some young college women who were showering? It’s almost as if we don’t even understand the fundamental nature of the human animal. I’m shocked, I tell you. Simply gobsmacked.

From iOTWReports, in entirety:

Proud to be an Extremist

by BigFurHat • 15 Comments

Guest post by -John Velisek USN (Ret.)

In the progressive mind, it is the right-wing, notably the Tea Party, that is “extremist.”

Conservatives are labeled as fascist homophobes, and deranged Christians carrying out a “war on women,” and, according to Debbie Wasserman Shultz, they want to kick all women out of the country.

How can anyone with a rational mind seriously believe this?

Where are the rational arguments, other than name-calling and weirdo hyperbole? Simply declaring that the viewpoint the progressives hold is the only valid one is not a winning argument.

The motive for shutting down the conservative side of any argument is because progressive/socialist arguments cannot be won on its merits. The dead citizens of the socialist empires, close to 100 million, is testament that socialism fails to adequately replace an ideology based on virtue, morality, and individual freedoms.

Let’s take a look at what passes for “extremism” today from a progressive/socialist viewpoint. In 2013, the US Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training manual listed evangelical Christians as the number one extremist threat, more dangerous than Al Qaeda and Hamas, both listed lower.

Veterans officials have tried to order volunteers at military funerals to stop saying “God Bless You” to family members and even went so far to have it removed from condolence cards.

Even in the active duty forces, military personnel have been ordered not to discuss the faith they follow or share the gospel in any way.

We have the Council on American Islamic Relations Executive director, Faizan Syed, declaring that the “rightwing extremists” are the biggest threat to the nation. In the mind of Syed, the attacks that have occurred in this country are just jihad, and not terrorism. He goes on to cite an odd statistic, claiming that the chances of an Islamic attack are one in a million, choosing to ignore the fact that there have been over 26,000 Islamic attacks since 9/11. This is hidden from the public by this administration, a white-washer of Islamic terror.

I know I’m considered an extremist by this administration, as would any conservative who attempts to speak out. If fighting against the Islamization of our schools, where Common Core spends more time on Islam than Christianity, makes me a extremist, then fine.

If not supporting the Strong Cities Network, another invasion on our sovereign rights by the United Nations, makes me an extremist, then fine.

If expecting the laws to be uniformly enforced for both government employees and citizens is “extremist,” than I suppose I am.

I don’t think I’m the only citizen who is angry about Hillary getting away with totally demolishing out national security, or Lois Lerner basking in her taxpayer retirement and not in jail, or our President looking to sweep the Bowe Bergdahl desertion under the rug.

Bergdahl caused serious injury and death to his brothers in arms. As a former veteran I feel that life in prison would be a good start, firing squad even better. But it will be all forgotten soon as the media will not cover much about it, and the Congress will turn the other way. After all, it should be embarrassing to Obama that he once again lied to the American People. I have given up on both parties who only seem to give our President what he wants to get along. Time to get along is long gone. We need a principled, conservative way back from the hell this President has caused. If that makes me “extreme”, then label me as such.

TIME magazine wrote of the growing threat to law enforcement in September 2010. What is surprising is that TIME stated that the threat would come from “Right Wing Extremists” and militias. A TIME contributing Editor at Large Barton Gellman even went so far as to say these groups” have a dangerous ideology which includes patriotism and a strong belief in the Second Amendment”. In his column, Gellman makes no mention of Black Nationalists, Marxists, prison gangs, or communists. These groups and entities, like the Soros Backed Black Lives Matter, and Islam terrorists who have worked with those groups since Ferguson will never be discussed in TIME or any other progressive magazines or sites because they do not fit the “conservative as extremists” narrative. By progressive standards, if you see this as a challenge to what this country was founded upon you are an extremist.

If you find fault with a UN that claims “conservative and extremists resistance” needs to be confronted in the gender equality of the world, but Islam is never mentioned, you may be an extremist.

If you feel that the Christians being slaughtered by ISIS in the Middle East should receive amnesty, and not be deported back to the Middle East, to face certain death, is a travesty, while Islamic terrorists are being brought into the country by the thousands is wrong, you may be a conservative extremist.

Now that illegals are being welcomed into our country, being given social security cards, driver’s licenses, and soon, the right to vote, and if you feel a challenge to all the unconstitutional gerrymandering should be put through Congress, you are very much a conservative extremist.

If you still want to know what happened at Benghazi, you are definitely a conservative extremist.

If you feel that Obama, through his pen and phone, is doing his best to use the Cloward-Piven strategy to destroy our country, to turn this country into a third world banana republic and put the citizens of this country in serious danger, then you most definitely are a conservative extremist.

So let people like Congressman Van Hollen call us “tea party Extremists,” and then state that the departure of Boehner will make it even more difficult to pass funding.

Harry Reid calls conservatives “anarchists” because they want to rein in spending.

Joe Biden, perhaps running for President, calls the Tea Party “a bunch of terrorists”.

Politico, a far left site, stated, “It has always been commonplace to call Tea Party members hostage takers, but they have now become full blown terrorists. Even the New York Times, a bastion of progressivism, got in on the action, writing that the Tea Party was waging “jihad” on the American People.

Low information voters will take this at face value, nodding their heads like good little children. They will firmly believe that if you want to save our children and grandchildren from insurmountable debt, if you dislike having the government control every aspect of your life, if you want to be able to stand up for your country and the principles it is founded upon, you are an extremist.

If believing in the greatness of this country makes you an extremist, count me in. I am proud to stand with my fellow citizens who see through all the name calling to let the elites know they will go no further. I am proud to be an extremists as are countless others who will not fail our country.

1939 Palestinian Flag. What does it look like? Surprised?

http://www.factualisrael.com/1939-palestinian-flag-look-like-surprised/#

Larousse-French-dictionary-from-1939-Pal

This a Larousse French dictionary from 1939. In the appendix it lists all the then current flags of the world in alphabetical order. You’ll notice that for Germany at that time the flag was the Nazi one replete with Zwastika which proves that this was pre-1945 ( before 1945) !

Now, alphabetically, look for the Palestinian Flag. YES , there is one. What does it look like?

Palestine-Mandate-Jewish-Flag-300x187.jp

Surprised? Oh, but you thought (Mandate Jewish) Palestine was an Islamic Arab-,Turkish-, Circassian Sovereign State that the bad Jews took over , right?

Confused?

From 1920-1948 a ( class ‘A’ Mandate) State of Palestine existed as per international law but it was, as all of its major institutions, Jewish. Until the 1960s, name “Palestine” resonated as something Jewish to peoples ears. The 4,000 year old Jewish homeland or “Land of Israel” or the “Holy Land” were all synonymous!!

The British as legal Mandatory over the Mandate managed or mismanaged the state partially with Jewish Auxilary until Jews regained official sovereignty in 1948, by declaring independence.
