The first woman and first Democrat to ever be elected to serve as attorney general in Pennsylvania — it was a landslide victory, the result of a campaign that pitted her against the good old boys’ political establishment — might wind up being the first female Democrat attorney general to do time in a Pennsylvania prison cell.

 

Kathleen Kane is accused of leaking grand jury information to reporters to get back at former state prosecutors she believed had embarrassed her in the press.

 

“Moreover, the evidence shows that Attorney General Kane undertook these actions seeking vengeance and retribution against other law enforcement professionals,” Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said.
