Casino67
Politico: Former GOP Rep. Aaron Schock, who is under criminal investigation for potentially misusing campaign and official funds, repaid the House more than $88,220 for mileage reimbursements, according to a newly released report. The payments by Schock cover mileage reimbursements he received from 2009-2014. His repayments are included in the record of House disbursements covering the first quarter of this year, which was released on Friday. Schock resigned in March after POLITICO disclosed that he had billed the federal government for 170,000 miles traveled on a car that had only been driven roughly 80,000 miles. Lawmakers and aides are allowed to use private vehicles for official work and be reimbursed more than 50 cents per mile. Schock’s reimbursement claims raised questions about potentially tens of thousands of dollars he had billed the government.
