Draggingtree
The Federalist: President Obama on ISIS: ‘Fetch Me My Brown Pants!’AUGUST 28, 2014 By Mollie Hemingway Everyone’s making fun of the tan suit President Obama wore in Thursday’s press conference. I can’t lie and say I liked it, of course, but neither do I really care. There was something about the content of his remarks, though, that reminded me of this old World War II joke about the Allies giving the Italians a pounding. The Germans decide to send one of their generals to meet with the Italian general in Sicily to improve matters. The latter is standing in front of his headquarters, filled with anxiety. The German general arrives dressed in a magnificent red tunic. “What a gorgeous tunic!” the Italian says. The German replies, “See! This is what is wrong with you guys. You see this and think of beauty whereas I wear it to improve troop morale!” He explains that if he ever gets wounded, his troops won’t see him bleeding and will continue fighting. The Italian takes this message to heart and shouts, “Giuseppe! Fetch me my brown pants!”
Draggingtree
The Bad, Good and Worse news at Obama’s ISIS press conference Posted by William A. Jacobson ▪ Friday, August 29, 2014 at 9:17am Obama: “we don’t have a strategy yet” as to ISIS. Media: Look at Obama’s tan suit. I was in class yesterday during Obama’s press conference, in which he announced the obvious: We have no strategy as to ISIS. So I didn’t get to watch it live and see the instant reaction. There was Bad, Good and Worse news. The bad news: We have no strategy as to ISIS, or anything else in the Middle East other than reducing American influence. The good news: Obama is telling the truth. The worse news: The truth Obama is telling is a monumental and deliberate failure that will take a decade or more to reverse, if it even can be reversed. Mark Levin summed it up nicely on Hannity the other night, not just as to ISIS but the entire thrust of the administration: http://legalinsurrection.com/2014/08/the-bad-good-and-worse-news-at-obamas-isis-press-conference/

Draggingtree
Read my lips: We don’t have a strategy yet…. By: gawken (Diary) | August 29th, 2014 at 10:00 AM **Promoted from the diaries. – Aaron** There are misspeaks…there are gaffes..there are cases of political foot-in-mouth disease, and then there are monumentally self-destructive comments like Obama uttered yesterday: “We don’t have a strategy yet….” for dealing with ISIS The WH scrambled to try and dismiss this as just a verbal gaffe…Obama paying an “aw shucks” homage to Harry Reid. Maybe they should invoke Joe Biden instead, because this really is a “big f***in’ deal.” It’s so damaging because it reinforces what many already know, and many more are starting to understand..there is a dearth of ideas, an utter lack of competency inside the Obama administration, and it is likely to prove dangerous to America. “Read my lips: No new taxes!” http://www.redstate.com/diary/gawken/2014/08/29/read-lips-dont-strategy-yet/
Draggingtree
Alleged ISIS laptop had a checklist for creating bioweapons.By: Moe Lane (Diary) | August 29th, 2014 at 06:00 PM Background: …well, read my friend and RedState colleague Aaron Gardner, who wrote on this subject himself (including stuff about the laptop mentioned below). But specifically… Syrian rebels (against pretty much both Assad and ISIS these days) reportedly found a laptop and handed it off to Foreign Policy magazine. Said laptop apparently turned out to have quite a number of alarming files in it. How alarming? Well, FP is calling it “The Laptop of Doom:” The laptop’s contents turn out to be a treasure trove of documents that provide ideological justifications for jihadi organizations — http://www.redstate.com/2014/08/29/isis-laptop-iraq-war-yezidi/

Draggingtree
If You Are Not Using the Presidency, Do You Mind If We Borrow It? By Robert Tracinski SEPTEMBER 1, 2014 President Lincoln once said to an over-cautious general, “If you are not using the army, I should like to borrow it for a short while.” After yesterday’s press conference, I think we might need to say, to our disengaged, apathetic commander-in-chief: if you’re not using the presidency, would you mind if we borrowed it? When asked what he intended to do about the biggest foreign policy crisis of the moment, the rise of the “Islamic State” (also known as ISIS or ISIL) in Iraq and Syria, here is what the commander-in-chief had to say. http://thefederalist.com/2014/09/01/if-you-are-not-using-the-presidency-do-you-mind-if-we-borrow-it/
clearvision
Source: Obama given detailed intelligence for a year about rise of ISIS President Obama was given detailed and specific intelligence about the rise of the Islamic State as part of his daily briefing for at least a year before the group seized large swaths of territory over the summer, a former Pentagon official told Fox News. The official -- who asked not to be identified because the President's Daily Brief is considered the most authoritative, classified intelligence community product analyzing sensitive international events for the president -- said the data was strong and "granular" in detail. The source said a policymaker "could not come away with any other impression: This is getting bad."

ISIL represents to Obama & the group....more than just the territory already captured & under Islam. It represents what their co-aspirations are: All the territory of the Levant [including Jordan & Israel] under Dar-al Islam, forming the Caliphate that will eventually dominate all of Dar-al-Harb....that's all the rest of us, yet breathing in this world .......Christian, Jew, Non-denom....even atheist. He has weakened the American Constitutional Republic both within [domestic wealth redistribution & economic failure + cultural & religious disintegration & weakness] and without [no border security....abandonment of allies...incoherent foreign policy & destruction of military capability]
