Valin
New Docuseries ‘Exile’ Is Disrupting The Entertainment Industry And The Mainstream Narrative December 8, 2021 By The Federalist Staff On this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour, documentarian Matt Whitworth and former Congressman Tom Garrett join Culture Editor Emily Jashinsky to discuss their new documentary series “Exile,” which highlights the stories of refugees from around the world who are facing religious persecution. “When you hear some of these stories, it makes any problems that we have in this country, race relations, anything like that, seem so incredibly trivial,” Whitworth said. “So that’s the goal, like we want to film in Africa, we’re going to film in Asia, we’re gonna film in Europe, right, there’s been the shocking rise of antisemitic attacks in Europe. We are going to film in North and South America because there’s, you know, there’s problems.” Both Whitworth and Garrett said that as global religious persecutions rise, so does the need for people to help. Geee
Archaeological Remains of Jihadist Massacre of Christians Unearthed And it's every bit as gruesome as what history records. A piece of history from the long war between Islam and the West was recently unearthed: a mass grave of 25 Crusaders who were attacked from behind and/or beheaded in the thirteenth century. According to one report, A team of international archaeologists uncovered the gruesome scene at Sidon Castle on the eastern Mediterranean coast of south Lebanon. Wounds on the remains suggests the soldiers died at the end of swords, maces and arrows, and charring on some bones means they were burned after being dropped into the pit. Other remains show markings on the neck, which likely means these individuals were captured on the battlefield and later decapitated…. Archaeologists knew the remains belonged to Crusaders after discovering the European style belt buckles and a crusader coin within the graves. DNA and isotope analyses of their teeth further confirmed that some of the men were born in Europe, while others were the offspring of crusader settlers who migrated to the “Holy Land” and intermarried with local people…. The way the body parts were positioned suggests they had been left to decompose on the surface before being dropped into a pit some time later. Charring on some bones suggests they used fire to burn some of the bodies.

Valin
Mob violence against Christians on the rise in India John Sexton Dec 23, 2021 Wednesday the NY Times published an in-depth piece about the rise of anti-Christian mobs in India. The mobs routinely use “anti-conversion” laws as a pretense to beat and jail Christians. The attacks are being carried out by Hindu nationalists, sometimes with the help of local authorities. Quote Anti-Christian vigilantes are sweeping through villages, storming churches, burning Christian literature, attacking schools and assaulting worshipers. In many cases, the police and members of India’s governing party are helping them, government documents and dozens of interviews revealed. In church after church, the very act of worship has become dangerous despite constitutional protections for freedom of religion. To many Hindu extremists, the attacks are justified — a means of preventing religious conversions. To them, the possibility that some Indians, even a relatively small number, would reject Hinduism for Christianity is a threat to their dream of turning India into a pure Hindu nation. Many Christians have become so frightened that they try to pass as Hindu to protect themselves… “Christians are being suppressed, discriminated against and persecuted at rising levels like never before in India,” said Matias Perttula, the advocacy director at International Christian Concern, a leading anti-persecution group. “And the attackers run free, every time.” The mob activities are being coordinated on social media apps. The Times spoke to a member of one of these Hindu groups who claimed there were 5,000 members who regularly planned raids on Christian churches. Inevitably, when the police finally show up they arrest the pastors, not the people forcing their way into the churches. It’s rare that anyone in the Hindu groups faces any kind of accountability. (Snip) In some cases the Hindu majority uses social control to pressure Christians, such as refusing to let them enter Hindu homes or warning they won’t be able to buy anything at the local market unless they convert to Hinduism. Asked to explain this behavior one BJP member told the Times, “If we didn’t intervene, they would have converted this whole area by now.” The story links to this video of one of these raids which took place in February. As you can see, the police and the local Hindu group seem to be carrying out the raid together. Armed with weapons they intimidate Church goers and then round them up and take them to the police station making fun of them. (Snip)
Geee
The Ignored Pandemic: 360 Million Christians Persecuted Around the World The year 2021 “saw the worst persecution of Christians in history”—with an average of 16 Christians butchered for their faith every single day. This is according to the World Watch List-2022 (WWL), which was recently published by the international humanitarian organization, Open Doors. The report ranks the top 50 countries where Christians are most persecuted for their faith. Annually published and released at the beginning of each year, the WWL uses data from field workers and external experts to quantify and analyze persecution worldwide. According to the WWL-2022 (covering from Oct. 1, 2020 – Sept. 30, 2021), “over 360 million Christians suffer high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith—a rise of 20 million from last year. The number represents one in seven Christians worldwide. This year records the highest levels of persecution since the first list was published 29 years ago...” For this same reporting period, 5,898 Christians were murdered “for their faith,” a number representing a 24% increase from 2021 (when only 4,761 Christians were killed). Additionally, “6,175 believers [were] detained without trial, arrested, sentenced or imprisoned,” and 3,829 Christians were abducted. Perhaps even more reflective of the hate for Christianity, 5,110 churches and other inanimate Christian buildings (schools, monasteries, etc.), were attacked and profaned. Crunching these numbers into daily averages, the above statistics mean that every single day around the world, more than 16 Christians were murdered for their faith; 27 were either illegally arrested and imprisoned by non-Christian authorities, or abducted by non-Christian actors; and 14 churches were destroyed or desecrated. Geee
Migrants Desecrate More Than 2,000 Churches Just in Greece "As a deeply religious society, these attacks on churches are shocking to the Greek people and calls to question whether these illegal immigrants seeking a new life in Europe are willing to integrate and conform to the norms and values of their new countries." — Greek City Times, May 16, 2020. While the report most likely has the 1453 sack of Constantinople (today Istanbul) in mind — when countless Greek churches, including Hagia Sophia, were desecrated, destroyed, or turned into mosques — that pattern is a century older. Before Christmas, in the North Rhine-Westphalia region, where more than a million Muslim migrants reside, some 50 public statues of Jesus and other Christian figures were beheaded and crucifixes broken. According to a new report published by Greece's Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, there were 2,339 incidents of church desecrations in the country between 2015 and 2020, when tiny Greece, seen as Europe's eastern gateway, was flooded with migrants from the Islamic world. Greek City Times wrote regarding the report: "There appears to be a correlation between the increase in illegal migration and the incidents of attacks on Greek Orthodox religious churches and religious spaces during the five year period which occurred during the peak of the migration crisis." In the most recent year recorded, 2020, there were 385 incidents against Christian churches and buildings, including "vandalism, burglary, theft, sacrilege, necromancy, robbery, placement of explosive devices and other desecrations." Over the years, a few of these desecrations made it to English-language media.

Geee
Egypt: Christian Priest Slaughtered in Broad Daylight Another Coptic Christian clergyman was murdered in cold blood in Egypt today [this article was originally published on Thursday, April 7]. Local Christian media reported that, while walking in a crowded street of Alexandria with a group of church youth and his own family, Fr. Arsenius Wadid was repeatedly stabbed in the neck by an unidentified but bearded man, killing him. Fr. Arsenius, 56, headed the Church of the Virgin Mary in Muharram Bay and later the Saint Paul Church of Alexandria. He was ordained in 1996. As this just happened, details are still sparse and sometimes contradictory. Some sources say that Arsenius died instantly, in the middle of the street in front of his traumatized family and youth group, while others say he was rushed to a hospital but died soon thereafter of his wound. The assailant was apprehended and handed over to police by people who witnessed the murder. According to one source, “preliminary investigations [are expected, as usual] to suggest the suspect is mentally unstable in preparation for him to escape justice.” Egyptian media will no doubt attempt to portray this murder as a strange and unexpected aberration. In reality, it is part of an ongoing continuum, whereby extremist Muslims in Egypt randomly target and attack, and often slaughter, Coptic Christian clergymen. Geee
Christians in Lands of Persecution Fear Attacks on Easter Christians living in countries hostile to Christianity often face increased fears for their personal safety in the run-up to the Easter holiday, Mike Gore, the CEO of Open Doors Australia and New Zealand (an organization that aids persecuted Christians) wrote in an op-ed for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) on Thursday. “[F]or many Christians around the world, the anticipation of Easter is accompanied by the fear of an attack. As many Christians gather on Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday, the risk of violence intensifies. As Christians gather to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus, they themselves become targets for violent extremism,” Gore wrote on April 14. The Christian holiday of Easter falls on April 17 this year. Gore on Thursday cited Open Doors statistics which found that “526 Christians have lost their lives while celebrating Easter over the past seven years, with hundreds more injured. Just a year ago, on 28 March 2021, twenty people were injured in a bombing on Palm Sunday in a church in Makassar, south Sulawesi [Indonesia].”

Geee
‘Shameful’ and 'Disgraceful': European Parliament Rejects Discussion on Christian Persecution Once again, a large governmental body has exposed itself as morally bankrupt if not wholly bereft of legitimacy. On May 18, 2022, the European Parliament, one of the European Union’s legislative bodies, rejected a proposal to discuss the elephant in the room: the rampant persecution of Christians around the world. The proposal came in response to the May 12 stoning and burning to death of Deborah Samuel Jacob (Yakuba), a Christian student in Nigeria murdered by Muslims for thanking Jesus for her performance on a test, and, therefore, precipitating an allegation that she had somehow “blasphemed” against Muhammad. Her murderers also made a video, laughing at and mocking her burning corpse. Using that tragic incident as a catalyst, Jean-Paul Garraud, a French Member of the European Parliament (MEP), proposed a debate on the persecution of Christians and Christianophobia.

Geee
Muslim Butchers Christian with a Meat Cleaver Another day has passed, and another Muslim man has murdered another Coptic Christian in Egypt. On Sunday, June 5, 2022—the same day Muslims attacked a packed church in Nigeria, massacring more than 50 Christians—Abdullah Hosni, a Muslim man with a long history of harassing Christians, randomly attacked a Copt, Kirollos (Cyril) Megali, with a meat cleaver in a village in Sohag, Upper Egypt. Kirollos, who was rushed to a hospital “drenched in blood and with multiple stab wounds,” spent three days in an intensive care unit before succumbing to his injuries, including hack wounds to his skull. According to the deceased’s brother, Abdullah was locally known for harassing Christians. He had relocated to Libya for a time but returned two days before assaulting Kirollos. The latter himself had been working abroad (in Kuwait) and was visiting family when Abdullah knocked him off his motorbike and started hacking at him.
