Geee
Report: Beijing Responded to Growth in Christianity in 2014 With Harsh Persecution CNSNews.com) – Chinese Christians and followers of other faiths last year experienced the harshest persecution in more than a decade, according to a report released Tuesday by a Christian human rights group. China Aid attributed the deterioration to the communist authorities’ “response to the growth of Christianity in China.” It said it documented 572 cases of persecution last year, involving 17,884 individuals – a 300 percent increase from 2013, when it recorded 143 cases involving 7,424 people. Of those 17,884 victims of persecution in 2014, at least 1,592 were church leaders, it said. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/patrick-goodenough/report-beijing-responded-growth-christianity-2014-harsh-persecution
Geee
Chinese Persecution of Christians Reaches Highest Level in a Decade Christians and followers of other religions in China suffered the worst abuses in a decade last year as part of a state-sponsored crackdown on dissent, according to a Christian human rights group. The organization China Aid said the persecution of religious practitioners and human rights advocates in China increased by more than 150 percent last year. According to its annual report released on Tuesday, 17,884 individuals were persecuted for their religious beliefs. Authorities detained nearly 3,000 dissidents and sentenced 1,274 people, compared to just 12 in 2013. President Xi Jinping of China, widely viewed as the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) most authoritarian leader since Mao Zedong, has instituted a broad campaign to suppress all forms of dissent. China Aid said Christians are increasingly the target of this repression, as well as Tibetan Buddhists, Uyghur Muslims, and practitioners of the Falun Gong religion. http://freebeacon.com/issues/chinese-persecution-of-christians-reaches-highest-level-in-a-decade/

Concurrently, all Christians throughout the world are experiencing another form of persecution. Geee
"Whoever Disbelieves, Strike Off His Head" Muslim Persecution of Christians, February 2015 Such inaccurate portrayals that seek to downplay the Muslim persecution of Christians are standard for the BBC. "[T]he French and the US, with their regional allies... persevere in error, commit strategic, grotesque mistakes ... instead of recognizing that their guaranteed support to jihadist groups has led us to this chaos and has destroyed Syria, making us regress 200 years." — Syrian Archbishop Jacques Behnan Hindo. "The Saudi Arabian government has reportedly passed a law that imposes the death penalty on people caught smuggling Bibles into the majority-Muslim country. ... "The children were isolated and put in cages. Adults who do not deny their faith will be decapitated, and their children burned alive in the cages." — Sister Monique of the Vincentian Daughters of Charity, Syria. "[T]he police detained my son Zubair and tortured him in front of me. When Zubair cried with pain, they told him that he would be released only if I confess the theft.... The next day we found Zubair's dead body outside our house." — Aysha Bibi, on the Pakistani police's attempt to extract from her a confession to a theft she did not commit. On Sunday, March 15, as Christian churches around the world were celebrating morning mass, two churches in Pakistan — one Catholic, one Protestant — were attacked by Islamic suicide bombers. At least 17 people were killed and over 70 wounded. The Taliban claimed responsibility. Geee
Total Depravity: Christian Carnage and Western Indifference The following represents some of the persecution Christians experienced at the hands of Muslims during the month of April, 2015 alone. One wonders how the Western media, politicians, and other foolish talking heads would react if Muslims experienced the same sort and amount of persecution in Western nations in just one month. Islamic State Slaughters 30 Christian Ethiopians Approximately two months after the Islamic State published a video depicting its members slaughtering 21 Coptic Christians in Libya, on Sunday, April 19, the Islamic jihadi organization released another video of more Christians in Libya, approximately 30 Ethiopians—derogatorily referred to by an IS spokesman as “worshippers of the cross”—being butchered for not paying jizya, extortion money demanded of the “People of the Book” who refuse to convert to Islam, according to Koran 9:29. One group of Christians were shot execution style to the back of their heads, the others had their heads carved off, like the Copts before them. http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/raymond-ibrahim/total-depravity-christian-carnage-and-western-indifference/
Geee
ISIS MONSTERS AND CHRISTIAN VICTIMS Today in the Islamic Middle East, Christians like the Abada family in Iraq suffer real persecution the likes of which most of us can scarcely imagine. It has been nearly a year now since Ayda and Khader Abada have laid eyes upon their three-year-old daughter. On August 22 of last year, ISIS militants snatched little Christine from the arms of her mother, Ayda. To this day, her parents haven’t a clue as to her fate. Ayda and Khader Abada are the parents of five children. On August 6, 2014, a little less than three weeks before their daughter was snatched from them, Islamic State zealots took command of their home city of Qaraqosh. But because Christine’s father, Khader, is blind, he and his family, not unlike many of their neighbors with comparable disabilities, were left with little option but to stay put. According to Open Doors, an organization dedicated to shining the light on the persecution of Christians around the world, since the Abadas had “‘no place to escape,’” it was their hope that their conquerors would extend “‘mercy’” to “‘the blind and disabled[.]’” Unsurprisingly, their hope was in vain, for in no time, ISIS corralled the Christians of Qaraqosh for what they said was to be a medical examination. Just as unsurprisingly, ISIS lied. The Christians were robbed of their property and the purging of the city was under way. http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/259491/isis-monsters-and-christian-victims-jack-kerwick
Geee
U.S. State Dept. Bars Christians from Testifying about Persecution During the height of one of the most brutal months of Muslim persecution of Christians, the U.S. State Department exposed its double standards against persecuted Christian minorities. Sister Diana, an influential Iraqi Christian leader, who was scheduled to visit the U.S. to advocate for persecuted Christians in the Mideast, was denied a visa by the U.S. State Department even though she had visited the U.S. before, most recently in 2012. She was to be one of a delegation of religious leaders from Iraq -- including Sunni, Shia and Yazidi, among others -- to visit Washington, D.C., to describe the situation of their people. Every religious leader from this delegation to Washington D.C. was granted a visa -- except for the only Christian representative, Sister Diana. http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/
Geee
Returning a Kindness: A Holocaust Survivor Funds the Rescue of Syrian Christians Charles Krauthammer Christianity, whose presence in the Middle East predates Islam’s by 600 years, is about to be cleansed from the Middle East. Egyptian Copts may have found some respite under Abdel Fatah al-Sissi, but after their persecution under the previous Muslim Brotherhood government, they know how precarious their existence in 90 percent Muslim Egypt remains. Elsewhere, it’s much worse. Twenty-one Copts were beheaded by the Islamic State affiliate in Libya for the crime of being Christian. In those large swaths of Syria and Iraq where the Islamic State rules, the consequences for Christians are terrible — enslavement, exile, torture, massacre, crucifixion. Over the decades, many Middle Eastern Christians, seeing the rise of political Islam and the intensification of savage sectarian wars, have simply left. Lebanon’s Christians, once more than half the population, are now estimated at about a third. The number of Christians under Palestinian Authority rule in the West Bank has dwindled — in Bethlehem, for example, dropping by half. (The exception, of course, is Israel, where Christians, Arab and non-Arab, enjoy not just protection but civil rights. Their numbers are increasing. But that’s another story.) Most endangered are the Christians of Syria. Four years ago they numbered about 1.1 million. By now 700,000 have fled. Many of those remaining in the country are caught either under radical Islamist rule or in the crossfire between factions. As the larger Christian world looks on passively, their future, like the future of Middle Eastern Christianity writ large, will be determined by Iran, Hezbollah, the Assad dynasty, the Islamic State, the Nusra Front, various other local factions, and by regional powers seeking advantage. http://www.nationalreview.com/article/421837/christians-syria-rescue-holocaust-george-weidenfeld

Draggingtree
ISLAMIST “JUSTICE”: SLOW PAINFUL DEATH FOR CHRISTIAN MOTHER IN PAKISTANA case study on the plight of Christians in the ‘Land of the Pure.’ July 31, 2015 Raymond Ibrahim Originally published by the Gatestone Institute. Raymond Ibrahim is a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center. Pakistan’s authorities appear to have found a solution to at least one of their problems in the international arena: Aasiya Noreen, or “Asia Bibi,” a 50-year-old Christian woman and mother of five who has been on death row for six years for allegedly insulting Muhammad. Instead of executing Asia Bibi and further advertising to the international community that theirs is a savage and backwards nation — and instead of releasing her and provoking millions of angry Muslims to turn on the government and accuse it of supporting “apostasy” — Pakistan’s authorities appear to be letting time, wretched conditions, severe maltreatment, and beatings slowly kill her. Recent reports state that she is deathly ill and “so weak she could hardly walk.” Mission Network News says that Asia Bibi has “internal bleeding, abdominal pain, and is vomiting blood. Draggingtree
The Most Invisible Christians in Washington Even as Middle Eastern churches face extinction, their lobby struggles to be heard.By KELLEY VLAHOS • September 14, 2015 a katz / Shutterstock.com The woman’s voice rose higher and began to crack. It broke through the apparent frustration—and to a lesser extent, anger—which permeated the packed room at the National Press Club in Washington last week. “We are being massacred and I don’t know how much further we can go,” she said, the tears finally coming. Murmurs and nods, then applause, rushed in with a sort of catharsis. Nahren Anweya was among friends. An Assyrian Christian activist, Anweya says she has family living under persecution by the Islamic State (IS) in Iraq. She had taken the microphone at a press conference held in Washington by In Defense of Christians (IDC), which brings together scholars, elected officials, advocates, and clergy to discuss urgent threats to their faith in the Middle East. Geee
Pakistan: ISIS Plans Terrorist Campaign against Christians The Pakistani government and military have warned the nation's tiny Christian minority that Islamic terrorist groups plan to target Christian religious institutions in the near future. The wave of anti-Christian attacks will allegedly include Pakistan's Christian churches, schools, and hospitals. The warning issued by Pakistan's leading generals represents an extraordinary, positive development in the military's relationship with minorities in general and with Christians in particular. Their warming relationship appears to be a calculated political move to complement the military leadership's ongoing offensive against the terrorist havens in the northwestern corner of the country. Emissaries of the most powerful Pakistani generals and the Ministry of Interior have apparently personally warned Christian clerics that the assault will first be launched in the country's northwest region of Khyber Paktunkhwa.[1] This region abuts the Pushtun-dominated provinces of Afghanistan where Pakistan's Tehrik-e-Taliban is a potent force. According to the warnings, the planned attacks against Christian communities in Pakistan will be carried out by some splinter groups that formerly belonged to the Pakistani Taliban. According to sources in the area, these splinter groups have already forged an alliance with the more extremist and brutal Islamic State (ISIS) cells that have already entered Pakistan. The former Pakistani Taliban Commander, Hafiz Saeed Khan, is said to have pledged an oath of allegiance in January to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.[2] Several other Pakistani Taliban groups have reportedly also agreed to join up. In addition, Ahmed Marwat, a.k.a. Farhad Marwat, commander of Pakistan's Jundallah terrorist organization, specifically threatened in June that "the Jundallah will attack kafir Shi'ites, Ismailis and Christians."[3] http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6551/pakistan-isis-christians
Draggingtree
SAVING ONE LIFE AT A TIME How Hans Erling Jensen is rescuing persecuted Christians and Yazidis held hostage by ISIS.October 13, 2015 Phyllis Chesler I met Hans Erling Jensen for dinner in Copenhagen this past summer. I knew him by reputation as one of Europe’s extraordinary Free Speech and anti-censorship stalwarts, one of a handful of brave Danes, Swedes, Norwegians, and Hollanders. As he says, his “closest friends are on Al-Qaeda’s and ISIS’s hit lists.” Once, Jensen, 65, was a businessman. And then—he “saw the light” and began applying his economic savvy to certain political issues. He is a man of action. Once he analyzes a problem, he “does” something about it. He is funding an orphanage and school in Katmandu and is the International Director of the Hatune Foundation which has been rescuing Yazidi and Christian girls and women who have been captured by ISIS and is now focused on the plight of Christians trapped in camps in Turkey. http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/260428/saving-one-life-time-phyllis-chesler

We are the only family they got left”, says Hatune Dogan. “It is hard for them to stay in Iraq. In many cases their family has been terminated by ISIS. If that’s not the cause the existing honor codex prevent these young girls from living there. Many people consider a girl who lost her virginity as impure. The Hatune Foundation works with its own crew on the ground in Iraq and Syria. We organize and pay off the necessary middlemen and informants. Then we help the families or the community economically, so they can get their women and children out of imprisonment. Geee
Christians Persecuted by Muslims Even in the West "Convert or Die" — Graffiti on a restaurant, Gothenburg, Sweden. "Very religious Muslims are spreading the following idea throughout the refugee centers: Sharia law rules wherever we are." – Gottfried Martens, pastor of a south Berlin church. "You have a cross on -- then you are also a Christian f***ing whore. Do you know what we do to people like you? ... You get stoned [to death]." — Muslim threats against Christians in Denmark, documented by TV2. A British Christian family that was attacked says both police and the Anglican Church have failed to provide any meaningful support and are "reluctant to treat the problem as a religious hate crime." Christian residents of Europe continue to be persecuted, often by Muslims allowed into Europe on the grounds that they are being "persecuted." As Muslims grow in numbers, so do their demands -- assimilation in Europe is falling by the wayside. "Before we put on a show of unity with Muslims, let's have them begin by respecting our civilization and our culture." — Giuseppe Berlin, Municipal Councillor of Cinisello Balsamo, Italy. http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6701/christians-persecuted-in-west
Geee
"We Did What We Learned: Attacking Christians" Throughout the month of August, the Obama administration and the so-called mainstream media kept insisting that Islam does not promote the persecution of Christians -- all the while ignoring the direct testimonies of those who have undergone it. According to Chaldean Archbishop Bashar Warda, All the statements [by U.S. government and media] have not condemned strongly what damage it [persecution of Christians] is doing. What they are saying is just "This is not the true Islam. This is violating the picture of Islam." The issue for them is the image of Islam, but none of these statements speak about the victims, about what has been done to the victims, they are not even mentioned. And that is one of the questions our people have. [Author's emphasis]. Warda added that persecuted Christians are "being denied visas, while others who have participated [in the violence] or at least were silent, can go." Father Douglas al-Bazi, an Iraqi Catholic parish priest from Erbil, who still carries the torture scars he received nine years earlier at the hands of jihadis, denounced the Western refusal to accept reality about Islam: I'm proud to be an Iraqi, I love my country. But my [Muslim] country is not proud that I'm part of it. What is happening to my people [Christians] is nothing other than genocide. I beg you: do not call it a conflict. It's genocide... When Islam lives amidst you, the situation might appear acceptable. But when one lives amidst Muslims [as a minority], everything becomes impossible.... Wake up! The cancer is at your door. They will destroy you. We, the Christians of the Middle East are the only group that has seen the face of evil: Islam. http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6795/we-learned-attacking-christians
