@Casino67 has won the right to a Chick-fil-a sandwich! Way to go. *

*We 100% support your right to have one. However, we won't pay for it for you, as you are perfectly capable of making that contribution yourself. Good luck and congratulations on winning!

Rambling.

I finally remembered to check MSDNC's version of Fox's The Five. MS calls their's The Cycle. So what do I find, Rachel Makes Me Barf Maddow. Then at 4PM they show last night's Larry Odonnell's show.

Has there been a major shake-up over there? I hope they wipe out their entire line-up. Although, some, like Al Sharpton are always good for a laugh.

CFA Appreciation Day – The Triumph of the Ordinary

August 2, 2012 By Fr. Dwight Longenecker 17 Comments

CFA-300x150.jpg

Scissors-32x32.png

The Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day yesterday was historic. It was historic because it marks a new method of mass protest. I even hesitate to use the word ‘protest’ because it wasn’t a protest. There wasn’t any anger. There wasn’t any hate. There wasn’t any bullying. There were no unwashed crowds of unhappy people holding a sit in and causing other people stress, inconvenience and expense. There were no protest signs, no marches, no noise makers and attention grabbers. There were no revolutionary slogans, no clenched fists, no class warfare, no sullen adolescents in a stroppy mood.

The classic signs of a protest movement were absent. If they were not actually violent revolutions, the great protest movements in history have often had violent undertones. Subtle threats were made. Bullying tactics, financial and political pressure was exerted. Guns were wielded. Behind the scenes in smoke filled rooms men did deals and crossed swords to determine the future of millions. In the great revolutions hoardes of unhappy people filled the streets, rioting and on the rampage they took what they wanted, killed who they wanted and in misplaced zeal for justice overturned an established order.

Secret to Perfect Sandcastles Revealed

Megan Gannon,

02 August 2012

Scientists have cracked the code for building the tallest possible sandcastle: Use very little water.

Research has shown that water holds sand together by forming "liquid bridges" between the contact points of the grains. But too much or too little water will make the castle crumble.

So exactly how much water do you need to make a perfect sandcastle? Traditional estimates put the ratio at one pail of water for every eight pails of sand (or 12.5 percent water). But new research revises the amount of liquid down to just 1 percent.

This is very good to know. Especially for someone who lives in Colorado. However, on second thought it is good for me to know in case I find myself on a beach because I think beaches are boring and building the perfect sand castle would keep me engaged. For a while, anyway.

In the six months before the robbery he smoked ice and cannabis to cope with low self-esteem and post-traumatic stress.

Barbour was convicted of armed robbery, aggravated burglary, false imprisonment and possessing a drug of addiction.

RNC sends DNC 'you didn't bake this' Obama birthday cake

By Alicia M. Cohn - 08/03/12 03:43 PM ET

Scissors-32x32.png

The Republican National Committee (RNC) sent the Democratic National Committee (DNC) a birthday cake on Friday, but the DNC sent it back.

The cake read "you didn't bake this" over a picture of President Obama. Text written in icing reads, "Happy birthday, Mr. President." The cake marks the occasion of the president's birthday, which is Saturday, with a play on the "you didn't build that" controversy.
