I think the bottomline is that government and the two main political parties have gotten too big. When things get too big, they can't respond. They are like a giant ship, moving at a good clip. About the only thing that radically changes its momentum is running aground. Ultimately, that is where we are headed. That doesn't mean the country will end. It just means we will have an ugly and devestating readjustment. Massive changes that nobody can control. And from the ashes, we'll pick up and move forward. Nobody currently in our political process is capable of stopping where we are going. They can only speed it up or slow it down. Of course, Obama has his foot on the accelerator. The move came just hours after the European Union's antitrust regulator also approved the deal. The acquisition will give Google a foothold in the mobile phone industry and could boost its Android mobile operating system.
