We have been open a week as of yesterday afternoon. The state of the site is good. We have had 3 live events, and many thousands of posts. The software and hosting service have handled it well.
This Sunday evening I'll be hosting a live discussion on the software features and potential enhancements to the site. I'd like to focus on usability features and would appreciate feedback and suggestions from our members. I've heard a few comments so far and I encourage your input.
A particular area that could be focused on over the next few months is the categorization of our news items. Rather than try to create sub-forums for each type of news article, we would like to implement a category filter. This filter would let a poster select from one or more types of news categories for their article. These categories could be areas like economics, politics, weather, entertainment or WOT. Someone using the news category could then select to filter the type of news from a "drop down" menu and only articles of that type would show up.
We will of course have a constant trade off of new features versus change impacting users and of ability to maintain the software in the long run. Every change could introduce new or different user actions. Every change could make it harder to quickly move to updated software releases from Invision.
I hope you continue to enjoy the site, please feel free to give me feedback and I hope you join me Sunday if you are interested.
